Open Letter:
Tired of the Schemes:
Michael Jackson Fans Scream for Justice
A few days ago a British tabloid published a ‘breaking’
headline that stated Michael Jackson allegedly paid at least
two dozen boys to keep quiet about abuses they suffered
at the hands of Jackson. According to The Sunday People,
the source for these incredulous claims are ‘secret FBI files’
exclusively seen by their staff.
These allegations are categorically false. They were
published by another tabloid over two decades ago, only to
be disproven by a handful of ethical journalists and
Jackson’s fans. The “FBI files” are nothing more than a
statement made from an ex-employee of Jackson’s, who
was proven to sell his stories to the tabloids. In addition,
the disgruntled ex-employee embellished his version of
events, according to what tabloids were willing to pay. This
ex-employee exemplifies the foundation of checkbook
journalism in the sordid tabloid world.
We have had enough. Michael Jackson’s fans are no longer
willing to ignore the blatant lies willingly and knowingly
spread by tabloids and by others who use copy and paste
journalism in order to make a profit. It shows lack of
journalistic integrity and even worse, serves to underscore
poor investigative skills which have run rampant for
decades.
We implore the media to restore some degree of integrity
and allow us a platform for this truth to be known. If the
tabloids continue the salacious campaign against Michael
Jackson, his millions of worldwide fans will have no choice
but to boycott and contact their advertisers, negatively
affecting their bottom line; their profit.
Michael Jackson is survived by his children, family and
fans who love him beyond what any words could ever be
expressed. Since he is no longer here to defend himelf,
Jackson’s fans feel it is up to them to continue to pursue
truth and justice for him. We thank you in advance for your
time and consideration in this matter.
Signed,

Posted by sylmortilla‘Murmuration’ is the word given to the spectacle of flocking starlings as they pulsate in unified splendour. Murmuration is witnessed in evening skies, as the starlings prepare to sleep.
At 22:00 GMT on 8th July, in response to The Mirror’s AEG-sponsored smear campaign, members of the Voice As One anti-defamation protest group, from all over the world, synchronised their efforts and simultaneously sent hundreds of nuisance emails to The Mirror. There was a tangible air of activism and it was a proud occasion to be involved with.
This was the mere beginning for Voice As One. The 1100+ Facebook group (not even a week old) membership grows by the day. The group is vibrant and positive, united and enthused by the common goal of countering slanderous media. The team listen to group members, and their comments and suggestions for improvement have been taken on board for the next campaign, such as the best time to email for optimum disruption, and staggered bombardments to suit different time zones. There will now be waves of attack. I have been made privy to some of the genuinely exciting events they have planned, and they will be an honour to be part of.
What with Taj Jackson now having lodged an official complaint to the Press Complaints Commission regarding the lies being told by The Mirror and the Sunday People, there is a sense that the tabloid tide might finally be starting to turn.
However, for the foreseeable future, further slanderous smears are an inevitability. It’s highly likely there will be another piece in this coming weekend’s papers. Voice As One’s next email campaign will be July 12th. Thousands of emails will be sent.
So come join our murmuration. Though we’re not preparing for sleep. On the contrary, as the Sunday People tweeted on July 9th, “the Michael Jackson fans are just waking up.”

"The MJ Estate just filed a complaint with the British Press Complaints Commission about the grossly innacurate and misleading article printed in last weeks 'Sunday People' newspaper. If you remember, the article talked about 24 'pay-offs' allegedly documented in newly released 'FBI files'. This of course was just made up entirely.
"The Commission has today been contacted by a representative of the Estate of Michael Jackson. The Estate has informed us that it wishes to make a complaint through the PCC in relation to the coverage in the Daily Mirror and Sunday People which forms the subject of your complaint.
As I am sure you can appreciate, in circumstances where articles have made specific allegation against a named individual, it is more appropriate for the Commission to consider a complaint from that individual or their representatives.
As such, we will be taking this complaint forward with the Estate of Michael Jackson. We will endeavour to let you know the outcome of the PCC’s investigation into the matter, subject to the requirements of confidentiality."

UK Press Complaints Commission states MJ Estate filed a complaint against Daily Mirror and Sunday People tabloid stories.
The email is belowThank you for your email.
The Commission has today been contacted by a representative of the Estate of Michael Jackson.
We will endeavour to let you know the outcome of the PCC’s investigation into the matter, subject to the requirements of confidentiality.
Whilst the Estate has not as yet made a complaint in relation to the coverage in the Daily Mail, we will be putting that complaint on hold pending the outcome of our investigation with them of the coverage published by the Daily Mirror and Sunday people, as this raises substantively the same concerns. Should it become appropriate for us to revert to you on this complaint at a later stage we will do so.
Thank you for raising these concerns with us.
Best wishes
Ben
