BBC Radio 2 Ultimate 80s Album – Revealed!

Last month, BBC Radio 2 asked their listeners to vote for the Ultimate 80s Albums and the top 10 has been revealed!

Michael Jackson’s Thriller album came 4th in the list. Ok, this is not the first place we wanted but considering BBC Radios have muted Michael Jackson during a good part of 2019 (no worries, Michael is back on most radio programmes, not as much as it used to be but it is a start!), coming 4th is still a winner!

Not to mention that the radio has given 50 albums to chose from and from what we understand, the top 10 came very close to each other!

Michael Jacksons Thriller-Album belegte den 4. Platz in der Liste. Ok, dies ist nicht der erste Ort, den wir wollten, aber wenn man bedenkt, dass BBC Radios Michael Jackson während eines Großteils des Jahres 2019 stummgeschaltet haben (keine Sorge, Michael ist wieder in den meisten Radioprogrammen, nicht mehr so viel wie früher, aber es ist ein Anfang! ), der 4. Platz ist immer noch ein Gewinner!

Ganz zu schweigen davon, dass das Radio 50 Alben zur Auswahl gestellt hat und nach unserem Verständnis kamen die Top 10 einander sehr nahe!

The long version of Michael Jackson's short film “Thriller” has just passed the milestone of 700 million views on the michaeljacksonVEVO channel.

Good news for the Jackson universe this Halloween weekend.

As a reminder, it was in 2018 that the long version of the “Thriller” video had exceeded 500 million views. [cf. our News of 03/31/2018]

GHOSTS viewed over 2 million times

For Halloween, The Estate of Michael Jackson released GHOSTS on youtube for a limited time.

The short film has now been removed from youtube but it was watched over 2 million times over 3 days. [Last viewed count was 2,131,355]

The rare short film was only released in 1996 and was available on VHS (mainly), Laserdisc and VCD in Asia.

Putting the movie for free on the youtube channel gave the opportunity for many MJ fans and horror fans to see the masterpiece either again or for the first time.

We hope that with such good numbers that the Estate of Michael Jackson will consider either to do the same every Halloween or even better to release it finally on DVD or bluRay.

Der Kurzfilm wurde nun von YouTube entfernt, wurde aber über 3 Tage lang über 2 Millionen Mal angesehen. [Zuletzt gesehen war die Anzahl 2.131.355]

Der seltene Kurzfilm wurde erst 1996 veröffentlicht und war in Asien auf VHS (hauptsächlich), Laserdisc und VCD erhältlich.

Die kostenlose Veröffentlichung des Films auf dem Youtube-Kanal bot vielen MJ-Fans und Horror-Fans die Möglichkeit, das Meisterwerk entweder wieder oder zum ersten Mal zu sehen.

Wir hoffen, dass mit so guten Zahlen, dass der Nachlass von Michael Jackson in Betracht ziehen wird, entweder jedes Halloween dasselbe zu tun oder es sogar noch besser auf DVD oder BluRay zu veröffentlichen.
