JosephJacksonThe story of how the Jackson 5 rose to fame from Gary, IN
is a well-known tale. It’s also a well- publicized story of how the
entire Jackson family cemented their role in all facets of
entertainment, making them music royalty. However, the true story of the
patriarch of one of music’s most famous families has never really been
told. Over the years, Joe Jackson has faced his share of the wrath of
the media—the same media that preyed on his family, especially his son
Michael Jackson before and after his death in 2009. Mr. Jackson says
it’s time to tell his story, his way. Jackson is currently working on
his latest venture, a book tentatively titled, A Journey in My Shoes.
At 86 years old, one would think Jackson would be laid back, enjoying
the fruits of his labor from a long career of managing his children.
Instead, he stays busy traveling, supporting his multi-talented family,
and working on his own business ventures, showing no signs of slowing
    down anytime soon.

In a rare exclusive interview, SoulTrain.com spoke with Joe Jackson to
discuss his new book and his thoughts on what’s missing in the music
industry, and the King of Pop’s Soul Train Award nominations.

SoulTrain.com: Mr. Jackson, it is an absolute pleasure to be speaking
with you. Are you still working on the documentary, A Journey in My
Shoes, which you mentioned on the Piers Morgan Show last year?

Joe Jackson: Thank you. I am, but instead of a documentary, it will
actually be a book that will be my legacy. It’s about my life story.
It’s about how I tried to get my boys out there and how I had to work
several jobs to sustain my family. It’s about the rejection, the
fighting, and the struggles, and the bad press that I’ve received for
what I have done. It’s about the things that I had to go through to make
my boys the superstars they became all over the world. It even
addresses the flack I received about the way that I decided to raise my
children. I can’t wait for the fans to read it.

SoulTrain.com: When will the book be available, and what can fans expect
to learn about Joe Jackson in the book that they didn’t know before?

Joe Jackson: It will be available when I finish it. The fans will just
learn all about me and everything I went through from my point of view.

SoulTrain.com: What else are you working on besides the book?

Joe Jackson: I am working on several things that I can’t really talk
about right now because of confidentiality agreements, but you will hear
    about them soon.

SoulTrain.com: The music industry has changed so much since the Jackson 5
signed on with Motown. Mr. Jackson, what do you think is missing in
    music today?

Joe Jackson: It was easier back then. Artists wanted it and wanted to
be stars, and they showed up prepared and they were developed, so they
had lasting careers. There’s a lack of artist development today.
Artists are just focused on putting out their music and then you never
hear from them again. That’s just my thoughts on it.

SoulTrain.com: A few years ago in an interview, you mentioned that you
had a record label with Marshall Thompson of the Chi-Lites. Do you still
    have the label?

Joe Jackson: Yes, I still have the label, but I don’t have any time to
work on it. I am busy traveling all over the world. I’m just trying to
stay as healthy as I can and travel and do it all for the fans. So I
haven’t been using the label as much these days.

SoulTrain.com: If you were looking for talent, we may know a certain writer that you could sign to the label, hint, hint.

Joe Jackson: What can you do besides laugh and write? That’s funny! (laughs)

SoulTrain.com: Let us know if you change your mind! SoulTrain.com spoke
with Eddie Ray recently. He was the first African American executive at
Capitol Records that tried to get the Jackson 5 signed onto their
label, but you made the decision to go with Motown instead. Do you think
things would have been different had you decided to go with Capitol
    instead of Motown?

Joe Jackson: I think I made a good choice, wouldn’t you say?

SoulTrain.com: Absolutely! Mr. Jackson, when you look back on your life, especially your career, do you have any regrets?

Joe Jackson: No regrets at all. I enjoyed what I did and reached the
goals that I set. My goal was to help my family make it and I achieved
    that.

SoulTrain.com: Michael Jackson has been nominated for a Soul Train Award for Album of the Year for the album Xscape,
and he’s also nominated for Best Song of the Year, and Best
Collaboration for “Love Never Felt So Good” featuring Justin Timberlake.
What do you think about your son’s nominations?

Joe Jackson: I think it would have made Michael very proud to be
nominated. I just wish Michael was here to be able to celebrate his
    nominations, especially if he wins.

SoulTrain.com: Are you pleased with the way fans have kept your son Michael’s memory alive?

Joe Jackson: Yes, very much so. I appreciate it so much how they have
remembered Michael. When I travel all over the world, fans show our
family so much love. I just want to say thank you very much to the fans.
I really appreciate all that they do for our family.

SoulTrain.com: Do you have any memories of Soul Train that you’d like to share?

Joe Jackson: Oh yes, I will never forget Soul Train or Don Cornelius.
Don Cornelius was the first one to put my boys on stage. It was the
first time they had been on stage. Back then, Don promoted a show at the
West Side Theater in Chicago, so I will never forget him, ever.

Also Joe Jacksons Wahrheit die Zweite? :voll

Court rejects Katherine Jackson's bid for new trial against concert promoter AEG Live

Court Denies Bid for New Trial in Michael Jackson Case

    LOS ANGELES — Jan 30, 2015, 1:13 PM ET

By ANTHONY McCARTNEY AP Entertainment Writer

    Associated Press

A California appeals court on Friday upheld a jury's decision that the
promoter of Michael Jackson's ill-fated comeback concerts was not
    responsible for his death.

The 2nd District Court of Appeal issued a 39-page ruling a week after
attorneys for Katherine Jackson argued for a new trial. The court found
the verdict in favor of concert promoter AEG Live LLC was legal.

The court also upheld rulings by a trial court judge that narrowed the
case to a single claim that AEG negligently hired, retained and
supervised the doctor later convicted of causing Jackson's death.

Jackson died in June 2009 while preparing for his "This is it" shows.

His mother sued AEG, claiming executives exercised undue control over
the doctor and failed to properly investigate before he was hired.

A jury listened to five months of testimony during the 2013 trial before siding with AEG.

The justices noted that jurors seemed to understand the case and did not
appear confused by jury instructions or the verdict form, as Katherine
    Jackson's attorneys have contended.

Lawyers for the Jackson family matriarch had been hoping to restore some
claims against the promoter that Superior Court Judge Yvette Palazuelos
dismissed early in the case, but the court found no basis to do so.

It determined that Conrad Murray, the doctor convicted of involuntary
manslaughter in Jackson's death, was an independent contractor of AEG
and not an agent of the company.

"Today in a strongly worded opinion, the court of appeal found what took
a jury two days to see through and that is that AEG was in no way
responsible for the tragic death of Michael Jackson," AEG attorney
    Marvin S. Putnam said.

Kevin Boyle, an attorney for Katherine Jackson, said his office was
still reading the ruling and did not have an immediate comment.

Michael Jacksons Mutter verliert gegen Konzertveranstalter: http://orf.at/stories/2263390/

Ein Berufungsgericht in Kalifornien hat den Konzertveranstalter AEG von
jeglicher Verantwortung für den Tod von Popstar Michael Jackson
freigesprochen.

    Entscheidung.

    An Überdosis Propofol gestorben

LaToya Jackson was out to dinner with The Man we thought was her fiancé, but it turns out ... they called off their engagement and didn't tell anyone.

They seemed serious as they left Mastro's Thursday night.

La Toya chimed in from the passenger seat that Jeffre Phillips was a truth-teller. When our photog scoffed, Jeffre reiterated.

The couple got engaged last June.

  • Michael Jackson's mom plans to take wrongful death suit against AEG Live to California Supreme Court

Michael Jackson's mom is heading to the California Supreme Court for another shot at her megabucks wrongful death claim against concert promoter AEG Live.

The music matriarch was denied a re-hearing of her appeal by a lower court Friday, so the next step is an even higher authority, her lawyer told the Daily News.

"We are going to the California Supreme Court. The Court of Appeals missed the point," lawyer Kevin Boyle said.

Katherine Jackson — a front-row fixture during the 2013 jury trial of her unsuccessful $1 billion wrongful death claim — remains committed to holding AEG financially liable for her legendary son's June 2009 overdose death, Boyle said.

One of her lawyers argued her appeal before the California Appeals Court on Jan. 22, but the panel of justices affirmed the original jury verdict a week later and awarded AEG and two executives their costs on appeal.

Katherine then filed her request for rehearing on Feb. 17, with the denial posting on the court website Friday

Jackson died in 2009 while preparing for a massive concert series in London.
"We're the underdog and we're not supposed to win. But I think we should win under the facts of the law here," Boyle told The News after the hour-long Appeals Court hearing in Los Angeles last month.

"Katherine very much misses her son, and she very much would like to see justice done and is hoping for a favorable result," he said.

Katherine's initial appeal, filed in November 2013, claims the original lawsuit's trial judge incorrectly dismissed negligence and employment claims, and allowed the jury to receive a faulty jury verdict form.

Lawyers for AEG have argued that concert executives had no reason to suspect Jackson's tour physician was giving the "Thriller" singer dangerous doses of a hospital-grade anesthetic behind closed bedroom doors to help him sleep.

In a separate criminal trial, Dr. Conrad Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for giving Jackson a lethal dose of propofol without proper monitoring and live-saving equipment.

AEG Live lawyer Marvin Putnam has argued that the concert giant was as shocked as anyone to learn Murray, a cardiologist, was giving Jackson propofol.

"It was a long trial and the record is enormous. When you dig into it, they have no basis of appeal," Putnam told The News last month.

"They were given every opportunity to try their case. No evidence was denied them. They weren't limited by time and they failed to (convince the jury)," he said.

"The jury saw that AEG was in no way negligent in the tragic death of Michael Jackson. And nothing done today or in the papers changes that," he said.

    Chef Threatens Sexual Harassment Suit
    Nephew Looked at Me Fishy

4/3/2015 1:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFFEXCLUSIVE

Michael Jackson's former chef claims while she was cookin' for Katherine Jackson's family, her nephew sexually harassed her, and when the cook asked for some kitchen aid, Katherine blew her off ... and now she's threatening a lawsuit.

You may recall Kai Chase ... she was in MJ's home the day he died and made the rounds on TV in the months that followed. Kai took a cooking job with Katherine in 2012 for $96k a year.

She says it didn't go well, because Trent Jackson, Katherine's nephew and confidante, was a real horndog. She claims he would approach her from behind and make grunting sounds, whisper sexual remarks in her ear, stare her up and down in a sexual manner, and sit in front of her in the kitchen with his legs open in a sexually suggestive manner.

Kai, who sent a demand letter to Katherine last month for money, claims she complained to the matriarch, and Katherine first apologized but then pooh-poohed her complaints, asking Kai to just tolerate Trent.

Kai claims in her letter she was fired shortly after she complained, and she was given a lame reason ... she "did not appear happy."

Now Kai's lawyer is demanding that Katherine pay his client a respectable amount or face a lawsuit.

We reached out to Katherine's rep ... so far, no word back.
