MICHAEL JACKSON THRILLER 40 – SHE’S TROUBLE
The songwriters, Terry Britten, Sue Shifrin and William Livsey, gave this song to Quincy for consideration on Thriller. Although Michael demoed the song, it didn’t make the album and the songwriters then gave the song to other artists to record and release. This is the first time Michael’s demo is being released.

After hearing the original instrumental recording of this song by the group Yellow Magic Orchestra, Michael reached out to them to ask if he could create a version of the song with lyrics. They readily agreed and Michael wrote the lyrics and recorded the demo which he played at a listening session at his home studio attended by Quincy Jones, Rod Temperton and Greg Phillinganes at which Michael also played the demos for “Billie Jean”, “Beat It” and “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’”. Unfortunately, “Behind The Mask” didn’t make the cut for the Thriller album and, although Michael worked on the track over the years, a finished version wasn’t released until the Michael album. But this original demo by Michael has never been released.

10 Bonustracks (Raritäten und Demos) wird es geben. Diese werden peu a peu bekannt gegeben. Der erste am kommenden Montag (05.09.), der letzte kurz vor Veröffentlichung des Albums im November.
Bei der gestrigen Q&A mit Greg Phillinganes und Karen Langford, wurde verkündet, das heute eine Pressemitteilung zu Thriller 40 veröffentlicht wird. Des weiteren kann man davon ausgehen, dass die original Demo von "Behind the Mask" eines der Bonustracks sein wird (weshalb sonst sollte Karen einen Einspieler von Greg's Version einleiten).

Es wird Anfang Dezember im deutschen Fernsehen eine Dokumentation anlässlich zum 40. Jahrestag des Thriller Album geben.

Vermute mal das hat ein Fan dort als Verkäufer eingeschleust, und dann wurde es entdeckt.

Man darf nicht vergessen, das Plattenlabel, Legacy Recordings, hat letzte Woche auf ihrer Website die Pressemitteilung vom Mai vom Netz genommen. Es ist durchaus möglich, dass in den kommenden Tagen oder Woche(n) eine aktualisierte Pressemitteilung (samt neuem Cover und vollständiger Tracklist) veröffentlicht wird.

Auf jeden Fall ist es ein verdienter, grandioser Sieg für die MJ-Community.

Leute, kleines Update. Ich bin im Moment ziemlich stark beruflich eingespannt und kriege die Ab- und Umschaltung des Forums nicht hin. Deshalb muss ich, sicher zu eurem großen Bedauern, das Leben des Forums um einen weiteren Monat zu verlängern.

In response to your question, I can confirm that the three Cascio tracks on the 2010 album Michael are no longer being made available by Sony Music for purchase or streaming but I should point out that the removal of these three songs has nothing to do with their authenticity. The Estate and Sony Music believe the continuing conversation about the tracks is distracting the fan community and casual Michael Jackson listeners from focusing their attention where it should be - on Michael’s legendary and deep music catalog.
The fans have so much to celebrate in 2022 and beyond with regards to the vibrant legacy of Michael Jackson. We believe Michael will continue to make many new, first-time fans of all ages but it is up to all of us as the MJFam to focus on the things where we want the attention of those new to Michael’s legacy to be. We hope you share your love of Michael with the world so that the MJFam community continues to grow even further.
For instance, fans may want to continue to share the success of MJ the Musical, which won four Tony Awards including best lead actor and best choreography. As was reported by AP and picked up by other media outlets, MJ saw the biggest bump in sales out of all Broadway shows the week after the Tony Awards and a US tour is kicking off in Chicago in July 2023. And, of course, the immensely popular Michael Jackson ONE show continues in Las Vegas.

Endlich tut sich anscheinend jetzt etwas. Peu a peu verschwinden die 3 Fake Songs vom "Michael" Album bei diversen Streaming und Download Diensten.

Hätte sie die Sachen nicht genommen, so hätte mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit der zwiespältige Doc (wie hieß der noch? der war unmittelbar nach MJs Tod bei der PK im UCLA neben Jermaine zu sehen. hatte einen komischen Doppelnamen) diese entwendet.

La Toya hat direkt nach Michaels Tod gesagt das sie im Besitz von Festplatten mit Songs ist.
Zum Thema "Chicago 1945", es soll ja auch eine Darkchild Version feat. Fats geben (wovon Steve Pocaro entwender nichts weiss, oder es stimmt einfach nicht. Obwohl es damals auf der Darkchild Seite erwähnt wurde, es müsste also eine weit fortgeschrittene Version geben).
Für mich wär die letzte Version am interessantesten ...
Am WE wurde der Song von Pocaro erneut vorgespielt. Interessant hierbei, der Song in der Zwischenzeit von ihm selber aufpoliert. Was natürlich auf eine VÖ in (naher?) Zukunft hoffen lässt.
Xscape2040: Zu den Darkchild Einträgen der Ba-Ära songs, Michael hatte ihm die gegeben nach dem Motto "zeig mal was du kannst". Nichst besonderes also. Hat er früher mit anderen Produzenten auch gemacht.
