mjLas Vegas, NV (PRWEB) July 24, 2007 — The infamous Joe Jackson, Father and founder of The Jacksons (including Michael Jackson & Janet Jackson), will be holding a celebrity filled birthday party, and after party, this week. This is not just a party, but a tribute to the legendary Joseph Jackson, celebrating the many decades of contributions Mr. Jackson has contributed to the music and entertainment industry.

We have a fun filled night planned for Mr. Jackson and his guests, starting with cocktails, followed by dinner, live performances, and speeches from many entertainers influenced by Mr. Jackson. There will also be a silent auction of many items, donated by celebrity friends and family. All proceeds from this event will be donated to The Lisa Lopes Foundation. Mr. Jackson would like to bring awareness of the foundation, founded in honor of the late Lisa Lopes, of phenomenally successful girl group, TLC, who, tragically, died in a car accident back in April, 2005.

We welcome the media to attend the red carpet at both the main event, and the after party. Hopefully, together with your support, we can make a difference in the life of a child.

Information: Both events are open to the public and fans. Tickets covering both the main dinner, and after party are $150. Tickets for just the after party are available - age 21+: $30 incl a drink ticket and $100 for VIP tickets which allows access to be upstairs, in VIP, with Mr. Jackson and his guests.

It’s probably most unlikely, but the media appear desperate to link MJ and Prince together (they wish).

According to the New York Post: “Prince has been suggesting that Michael play a sequence of unplugged concerts in Las Vegas - just Michael and the microphone. No gimmicks, no costume changes, no smoke or mirrors, just his voice.”

The interview took place at her house in the Hollywood Hills section of Los Angeles one afternoon in March between rehearsals for her appearance on the Academy Awards show. Although she made no effort to hide her lack of enthusiasm to talk to the press, she was a dream to interview. She never declared anything “off-the-record” (although she did call the next morning requesting that The Advocate not print the astonishing title of the song she’s supposed to be writing with Michael Jackson).

Talking about Michael…

I keep telling Michael Jackson, “I’d love to turn Jose and Luis on to you for a week.” They pull you out of the shoe box that you’re in. Anybody who’s in a shoe box in the closet cannot be in one after hanging around with Luis and Jose. Or me, for that matter.

I have this whole vision about Michael. We’re considering working on a song together. I would like to completely redo his whole image, give him a Caesar—you know, the really short haircut—and I want to get him out of those buckly boots and all that stuff. What I want him to do is go to New York and hang out for a week with the House of Extravaganza [a group of voguers]. They could give him a new style. I’ve already asked Jose and Luis if they would do it. They’re thrilled and ready. I said, “Could you give this guy a makeover for me?” because I think that’s what he really needs.

Is he up for it?

I don’t know. He’s up for a couple of things that surprise me. The thing is, I’m not going to get together and do some stupid ballad or love duet—no one’s going to buy it, first of all. I said, “Look, Michael, if you want to do something with me, you have to be willing to go all the way or I’m not going to do it.” He keeps saying yes

Beatles Fans Upset Over Use Of Song

mjMuch to the chagrin of Fab Four fans, a classic Beatles song about peace is now being used to sell diapers. Procter and Gamble is using “All You Need Is Love” in its Luvs diaper campaign. P&G spokeswoman Lisa Jester won’t say how much the company paid for the song, which was re-recorded by a studio group. Jester said that the commercial tested well with parents. But it has angered Beatles fans, who are claiming it’s a sacrilege to use a song popular with Vietnam War opponents during the current Iraq war and to sell diapers. Sony and pop singer Michael Jackson hold the copyright to the song, and they don’t need permission from the surviving Beatles or their heirs to license the song. A spokesman for Paul McCartney declined comment. Target is currently using “Hello Goodbye” in its commercials, but it hasn’t appeared to have caused as much a stir as the Luvs ad.Written by John Lennon and McCartney, “All You Need is Love” was recorded by The Beatles in 1967. A performance of the song was broadcast live on June 25, 1967, to 26 countries worldwide.
