Lawyer: Jackson's Doctor Had Difficulty Summoning Help
Dr. Conrad Murray's Lawyer Says Phones in Jackson's Home Weren't Working for 'Privacy Reasons'
By SARAH NETTER and HUMA KHAN
    June 29, 2009—

As scrutiny of the doctor who was with Michael Jackson when the pop star was stricken grows, a lawyer for Dr. Conrad Murray told ABC's "Good Morning America" that it took Murray a while to find anyone in Jackson's rented mansion to help him call 911 after he failed to revive the superstar.

"We can't tell you exactly when 911 was called," attorney Edward Chernoff told "Good Morning America" today.

Chernoff said that once Murray realized that CPR was not bringing Jackson back, Murray, he said, tried to dial 911 on his cell phone but did not have the exact address of Jackson's home. And with none of the phones in the home working "for privacy reasons," Murray ran around the house till he found Jackson's chef, who alerted security.

It was the security person, Chernoff said, who eventually dialed 911. CPR, he said, was done for 25 to 30 minutes before emergency officials arrived.

Chernoff said over the weekend that Murray found Jackson unconscious in his bedroom, detected a weak pulse in his femoral artery, and began CPR.

"He just happened to find him in his bed, and he wasn't breathing," the lawyer said. "Mr. Jackson was still warm and had a pulse."

A senior law enforcement official told ABC News that Jackson was heavily addicted to OxyContin and Demerol, and received both in daily doses. Officials said Jackson received an injection of Demerol an hour before a 911 call was placed after he lost consciousness.

But Chernoff reiterated his statements today that the personal physician did not administer Demerol to Jackson, nor see him take it.

"I can't go into any specifics that Michael Jackson might have taken the night before," Chernoff said. "Whatever was taken by Michael Jackson at any time wouldn't have caused his death."

Yet the family, who seems to be growing more suspicious of Murray as time passes, is waiting for results of its own independent autopsy.

"I have a lot of concerns," Jackson's father, Joe Jackson, told CNN. "I don't like what happened."

As Murray's qualifications have come into question, so have those of his associates. Murray has referred to himself as a cardiologist, but he is not board certified in cardiology.

And his partner in his Houston office has had his license revoked for improperly dispensing prescription drugs. Their clinic was shut down in 2002 for being what law enforcement officials call a "pill mill."

Chernoff said he is unsure where the discussion about Jackson and Demerol came from, but "I think that once toxicology comes back this rumor about Demerol is going to be squashed."

Murray and Chernoff met with investigators for three hours Saturday. Law enforcement authorities said Murray is not considered a suspect but rather a witness in Jackson's death.

Forensic pathologist Cyril Wecht told "Good Morning America" today that Jackson's history of prescription drug use can be confirmed by analyizing just a few strands of the performer's hair. Measured in increments of a centimeter at a time, a pattern of prescription drug use can be traced back in time, depending on the length of the hair.

As for Murray's lawyer's assertion that Murray did not administer Demerol, Wecht said, "the question is whether Michael Jackson obtained those drugs from someone else -- another physician or someone we refer to as an enabler."

Jackson's manager, Frank DiLeo, said he was with the nanny and a psychologist when he told the singer's three children that their father had died. But little needed to be said. DiLeo said they knew just by looking at his face.

"They said, 'Say it's not true.' I said, 'I'm sorry,'" DiLeo told "GMA" today. "We all cried, and they came over and we hugged and they all hugged each other."

DiLeo said he also told Katherine Jackson of her son's death.

"She was emotional, grabbed me," he said. "We just cried together."

DiLeo said he was able to view Jackson's body in the hospital. He said he kissed Jackson and told him that he loved him.

DiLeo was with Jackson during his final rehearsal for his upcoming 50-concert series.

"He had stamina," he said. "He was in shape."

DiLeo denied rumors that Jackson had been pushed beyond his capacity.

"He goes at his own pace," he said, "and he knows when he has to step it up and when he doesn't."

As the two walked together at the end of rehearsal, DiLeo said Jackson was optimistic and excited about the tour and had promised to call him later to go over a few things for the show.

"He said, 'Frank, we're going to do this,'" DiLeo said.

NOTE: People Magazine inaccurately reports that my father, Deepak Chopra, wrote this post and Grace is his friend. Again, inaccurate reporting in their rush to keep the story!! I, Mallika Chopra, Deepaks daughter wrote this post!!

In the aftermath of Michael Jackson’s death, I found myself in a surreal situation that gave me a glimpse into the dark side of bloodsuckers, media and celebrity.

In those few hours, I saw a side of humanity that saddens me – where people try to take advantage of vulnerability, confusion, and grief for their own advantage. I realized that much of media has so much more to gain when they report salacious gossip, even in the aftermath of a tragic death like Michael’s. I also realized that all of us, myself included, who participate in the engagement of that media feed so-called journalists to do anything to get their information. In the end, personalities like Michael are portrayed as freaks and dysfunctional, people who love them are taken advantage of, and those seedy, washed out journalists profit.

I share my experience because it involves Grace Rwaramba, who served as the nanny to Michael’s three kids. Grace is more than my best friend – I refer to her as my sister, and she thinks of my parents as her own (she actually calls my father papa).

In the last day in the aftermath of Michaels death, recent quotes have surfaced about her life with Michael, as well as speculation about her role in potential custody battles for the three children.

Grace has read this article before I published it.

Michael had a pattern of letting those close to him in and out of his life, and Grace was no exception. Lisa Marie Presley’s reflection on her emotional relationship with Michael expressed beautifully the power Michael had with those he loved. Over the years, Grace faced a similar cycle of wanting to save him and being hurt by him. It was an endless cycle that seemed similar to those faced by friends and families of other addicts. Michael had a knack of surrounding himself with enablers, and avoiding people who wanted to help him like his family, real friends who cared deeply about him, Grace and my father, Deepak Chopra.

Daphne Barak, a so-called journalist who claims to be a friend of the Jackson family and who got to know Grace through them, has been cultivating a friendship with Grace over several years. Unfortunately, the story with Daphne and Grace seems to be one that echoes the vultures that took advantage of Michael throughout his life.

Daphne reached out to Grace a few weeks ago, when she knew she was in a vulnerable place, having recently been let go by Michael yet again (this was a regular pattern). In the 17 years that Grace has worked with Michael, she has never spoken to the press. She loves Michael and his children at her core.

Grace genuinely believed Daphne was her friend who was trying to help her. Daphne had offered to help Grace launch a foundation she was creating to monitor non profit work in Africa. (Grace was originally from Rwanda.) She told Grace that they should record her speaking about the work. However, every time they began to record, her questions would center on Michael. Grace would say she was uncomfortable speaking about him.

On the morning of June 26th, after finding out that Grace was also in London, I rushed to her hotel. She was staying in a suite with Daphne. Daphne told tell me she had invited Grace to stay with her in Switzerland as her guest, and how she had helped Grace with the immediate aftermath of shock hearing about Michael’s death. She said that she had spent several thousand dollars to buy a business class ticket for Grace to fly to LA. She boasted about how close she was to the Jackson family, world leaders, etc.

I witnessed Daphne act as a friend while trying to bait information from Grace on her conversations with Jackson family members and friends about his death. She warned Grace that the family was going to try to set her up for Michaels downfall, and that it was critical that Grace speak with a lawyer before leaving. As a friend, she had organized a “lawyer” to get Grace’s story before she left for the airport.

In essence, Daphne was setting up a scenario to garner more information from Grace before she left for LA. I discovered that one of her friends who happened to be there had made a documentary on Princess Diana.

When we tried to leave, Daphne screamed at Grace – in front of my young children who began to cry -- that she was an ingrate. She had spent thousands of dollars hosting her, she was her guest, and she wanted to spend the time to say goodbye. (Daphne obviously could not believe her luck that she had baited Grace as a sympathetic friend for stories before he died, and had Grace with her on that sad day.)

Ultimately, Daphne, having obviously drunk a bit much, threatened to release the recordings she had made of their private conversations. Grace was petrified. I held her by the shoulders, looked in her eyes, and said lets just go. So what, let her put it out there. She is a washed up journalist trying to mine a tragic situation. Michael was gone now, and the future is the wellbeing of the children. Grace agreed.

Ultimately, I had to get the hotel manager involved to escort Grace out of the hotel. I also bought Grace’s ticket home myself, discovering that Daphne had misled us about the time and the price. It was a 650 Pound economy ticket, not several thousand dollars.

Twenty four hours later, I found that Daphne indeed had written an article full of quotes by Grace for a tabloid magazine. (A quick search of her other work not surprisingly shows she did a recent feature on Amy Winehouse.) Grace’s quotes are now being picked up by other tabloids and will find their way into more magazines and articles. (People Magazine is also featuring some today, including the inaccurate claim the Grace pumped Michael's stomach several times. For the record, Grace never pumped Michael's stomach. She has no idea how she would even do such a thing.) Which quotes are true, which are in context, (many are not) to me frankly doesn’t matter. I will not be surprised if Daphne releases audios or videos soon.

Grace feels used, insecure and shaken that she could have been so naïve, particularly having witnessed so many vultures in Michael’s world over the years. She made a mistake. The sad truth is that when you are a celebrity, or a close friend or family of one, in a world of tabloids, you must be impeccable in what you say and to whom. Michael probably faced the epitome of vultures, bloodsuckers and hanger-ons displayed in his endless cycle of managers, enabling doctors, and new business partners. How could anyone blame him for becoming so paranoid in his life?

In the article, Daphne tries to portray a rift between Katherine Jackson and Grace. This is not true.

I would like to go on record, with Grace’s permission, to say that Grace firmly hopes that the Jackson family gets custody of Prince, Paris and Michael. It would be detrimental to the children to be separated, and they should be with Michael’s family. They should know their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and they should learn about who he was as a person, not just as an icon. She has no interest in custody, and just wants the children to be happy and secure. She will be there for them whenever they need or want her.

As for the appetite for the salacious details of Michael’s life, my hope is that we let him go in peace. We already know he led a tortured life. He also led a great one in which he loved, and was loved, by many.

Let his family heal, and let his fans celebrate his music and his giving heart.

June 28, 2009. MediaTakeOut.com just EXCLUSIVELY uncovered some EXPLOSIVE news. Apparently Michael Jackson's doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray is NOT CERTIFIED by the American Board of Internal Medicine to practice internal medicine. And get this, he's not a board certified cardiologist either

What exactly does this mean? Well doctors are NOT REQUIRED to be Board certified to practice medicine. But just about EVERY TOP NOTCH doctor is.

And the story gets even more interesting, Dr. Murray's Board certification expired in late 2008, that means that when he was hired BY THE PROMOTERS to care for Michael Jackson - they SHOULD HAVE KNOWN that they were hiring a NON-CERTIFIED doctor.

There are a WHOLE LOT MORE twists to this story - so stay tuned ..

Right now there is NO OTHER news source in the world reporting this. We work EXTREMELY HARD for these reports. Members of the media are free to use information from this EXCLUSIVE REPORT, provided MediaTakeOut.com is given proper credit

Arab world mourns death of "Muslim King of Pop"
Muslim world grieves for Michael Jackson

Rumors of a Muslim pop icon
The pop world's most famous entertainer who stayed in Bahrain as a guest of Sheikh Abdullah was rumored to have become Muslim
The pop world's most famous entertainer who stayed in Bahrain as a guest of Sheikh Abdullah was rumored to have become Muslim

    CAIRO (Al Arabiya)

Michael Jackson's sudden death at age 50 provoked an outpouring of emotion from Muslims and Arabs who paid tribute to the pop star whose conversion to Islam and brief residence in the Gulf helped cement his popularity among a global fan base.

Despite ruling the charts and dazzling audiences with trademarks like the "moonwalk" in the 1980s, Jackson’s career was overshadowed by his physical transformation and multiple allegations of child abuse. But his fans seem to prefer remembering him as an entertainer who transcended cultural boundaries and became one of the best-selling artists of all time

Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad Isa Al Khalifa, the Bahraini prince who had a falling out with the “King of Pop” in 2008, publicly mourned his death as a tragic loss to the music industry in a statement in the Gulf Daily News.

" He had many faults but he came to the Middle East and felt at home here. I respect his cross-cultural awareness which knew no bounds "
    Bahraini Michael Jackson fan

Jackson moved to Bahrain with his children after his 2005 acquittal of child molestation charges and lived there for a year as a guest of the royal family. But after disagreement over plans for a concert comeback fell through his benefactor filed a lawsuit against him for $7 million that ended in an out of court settlement in 2008.

Yet Bahrainis, many of whom were accustomed to glimpsing the reclusive Jackson sporting a black women’s abaya, a black over garment,, connected to Jackson on a cultural level as many felt he was one of them.

“He had many faults but he came to the Middle East and felt at home here. I respect his cross-cultural awareness which knew no bounds,” a Bahraini fan said on Facebook page dedicated to the star.

“I grew up with Jackson’s music…he was my window to the world of pop culture and I grieve for his sudden death,” Haritha Moulid from Bahrain, said on a Remembering Michael Jackson Facebook page.

" It's hard to overestimate the impact Jackson had on the world in general, much less the Muslim world "
    Zahed Amanullah, editor of altmuslim

"It's hard to overestimate the impact Jackson had on the world in general, much less the Muslim world," Zahed Amanullah, associate editor of the London-based altmuslim.com, wrote in an article on his website.

"Like young people elsewhere around the world, many Muslims simply loved Michael, for his gentle persona, his raw talent, or the pop culture seed planted in their subconscious,” said Zaid Shakir, a renowned American imam, adding that he hoped his faith “cushioned” his fall.

"Michael was an icon, a pain-filled, troubled icon, and like many of comparable stature before him, and inevitably many after him, his fall was sudden and unexpected," Shakir wrote on his website. "Hopefully, the tears he cried in the privacy of his oftentimes lonely world, tears described by Smokey Robinson as those of a clown, shed when no one’s around, had dried," Shakir said.

Rumors of a Muslim pop icon

Jackson’s appeal to the Arab world went beyond his musical legacy and smooth dance moves amid rumors in 2008 of his conversion to Islam, the Arab world’s predominant religion.

Rumors that Jackson died as a Muslim intensified when Jermaine prayed for Allah to have mercy on him. "May Allah be with you, Michael, always," the brother said in a statement available on You tube.

In early 2007, Jackson’s brother Jermaine Jackson, a Muslim and the family’s official spokesman, announced that Michael would embrace Islam. Last November press reports said that Jackson had formerly converted to the religion.

Jermaine Jackson explained that it was the experience of touring the Gulf that brought his late brother into contact with Islam and that the singer found Islam’s anti-racist universalism resolved some dilemmas about culture and race that Jackson had combated all his life.

" Contrary to persistent press rumours, I was not at any kind of conversion ceremony for Michael Jackson "
    Yusuf Islam

Yet Jackson the Muslim remained shrouded in mystery and at best a rumor. Muslim folk singer Yusuf Islam, formerly known as Cat Stevens, denied press reports that he had attended Jackson’s conversion ceremony.

“Contrary to persistent press rumours, I was not at any kind of conversion ceremony for Michael Jackson. Nor, I believe, was Dawud Wharnsby or any of the others mentioned in connection with the story,” Islam said in a statement on his website, adding, “I hope that he finds inner peace and can return to making the kind of music that has inspired generations.”

Nonetheless, Muslims were keeping an eye out for signs of his faith in death that may not have been visible in life.

“If anybody hears about a janaaza prayer (Islamic funeral) being held for Michael Jackson, Allah yarhamuh (May Allah have mercy on him), please pass it along. If it happens, I encourage all who are able to attend in full Islamic dress,” a Muslim fan requested of others on a Muslim listserv.

:sad

    :heulsuse

*****: No Money to Pay Court-Ordered Debts

Michael Jackson’s slowly deteriorating financial situation gets worse this coming Friday morning in Los Angeles.

Jackson’s lawyers will have to explain to a judge why they didn’t meet a Nov. 15 deadline to pay the singer’s former manager Dieter Wiesner $3.8 million from a settlement agreed to in September.

I can tell you why now, though: Jackson is in Las Vegas on Tuesday, still homeless and certainly not planning any tour with the Jackson 5, as erroneously reported on Monday on the wire services.

And: Jackson’s finances are so imperiled that he has been waiting for refinancing to come through on his $300 million loan with Fortress Investments. His lawyers thought they’d pay the Wiesner settlement from cash derived in that refinancing.

But so far there is no refinancing. Barclays Bank has not come through and neither has anyone else. Jackson has walked into the middle of the credit crisis in banking, and because of that he has no cash. None. Zero. Zip. He can’t pay agreed-upon settlements and so, Wiesner’s lawyer, Howard King, is going to court to get the money.

Good luck. Sources say Jackson’s so-far unpaid attorney, Thomas Mundell, in Los Angeles, and Gregory Cross, in Washington, D.C., are trying to hold off King and Wiesner from entering a judgment on Friday.

They think it will somehow scare off Jackson’s potential, unnamed new financiers. But it’s still unclear if there are any new money people to take Fortress’ place. Sources say Cross has three different groups coming in. Maybe.

At the same time, Jackson remains in default on that separate $23 million loan from Fortress using Neverland as security. I am told Jackson will probably just let Neverland go to foreclosure in January.

If Neverland sells for less than the full amount of the loan, Jackson will be responsible for the balance with Fortress. He will be sued for it. He doesn’t get that.

:negativ

:spinnen

Friedas verzweifelte Reaktion :bätsch :ugly2 Michael Jackson: Lies, Lies, Lies

Michael Jackson’s publicist, Raymone Bain, issued a lie on Thursday in lieu of a press release. On her letterhead, she wrote: "Contrary to published reports, Mr. Jackson was never in default of the loan. Mr. Jackson is in the final stages of refinance and will not lose Neverland Valley Ranch."

Bain not only is incorrect, but she is actually lying. The state of California, Santa Barbara County will be happy to show her default notice docketed #2007-0074509. Maybe she hasn’t been truthful with her client, Jackson. He defaulted on a $23 million loan on Oct. 19.

This column reported it first on Oct. 26, then Oct. 31. A slew of news sources including the Associated Press, TMZ.com and Agence France Presse reported it again on Nov. 7 without our credit.

Jackson had better wake up. Thursday night, he set foot in California for the first time in two-and-half years to attend Jesse Jackson’s birthday party. While he’s there, he’d better go up to Neverland and start boxing up his stuff. If Bain doesn’t figure out how to refinance that $23 million loan, Neverland will go up for auction in January.

Meanwhile, Ebony magazine should be ashamed of itself. They traded exclusive photos of Jackson for a white-washed story about his life and music.

I feel sorry for the poor writer assigned to this task. Ebony even ran a sidebar using Bain’s innumerable lies as answers to questions about Jackson’s life. There is no reporting. Whitewash is a good way to put it, since Jackson is white as a ghost in the pictures.

    :dong :peitsche
