News-Mix #MichaelJackson, der sich u.a. mit dem #BlackHistoryMonth befasst. Der Februar wird jedes Jahr seit 1926 in den USA gefeiert. Es geht um die "schwarze"Geschichte in den Vereinigten Staaten. Man wählte damals den Februar, weil in diesem Monat Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass und Langston Hughes geboren wurden.

Und auch 2018 erinnerte man sich im Black History Month an Michael. "Michael Jackson ONE" - die Show in Las Vegas - wartet mit einer Rabattaktion und einem Gewinnspiel auf.

Die Einzelhandelskette "Walmart" überraschte mit einem neuem, sehr preisgünstigen offiziellen T-Shirt. Der Schuh Nike KD 10 Oreo ist seit dem ersten Februar erhältlich. Er erinnert bewußt sehr stark an einem Tribut für Michael Jacksons "Black or White". Die französische "Ebony" folgte mit einem seltenen Foto vom jungen Michael. John Leland würdigte die Fotografien von #AnthoyBarboza, der Michael so um seinen 21. Geburtstag herum fotografierte, in der New York Times.

Im November 2017 erinnerte in Italien die italienische Version der Zeitschrift "Millinium" auf ungewöhnliche Weise an Michael Jackson. In ihrer November-Ausgabe aus dem Jahre 2017 beschäftigte sie sich mit dem Titelthema der industriellen, digitalen Produktionskultur "Industrie 4.0". Technische Grundlage hierfür sind intelligente und digital vernetzte Systeme.

“Man In The Mirror” cover In Celebration Of Black History Month in Canada

Warner Music Canada just released a first instalment “Black Alliance Vol. 1” to celebrate Black History Month this February in Canada.

The volume is a compilation of cover songs from legendary Black artists who have paved the way for artists of today.

One of the song selected is “Man In The Mirror” of Michael Jackson and covered by Andye.

Ihm ging die Negro History Week voraus, die in der zweiten Februarwoche gefeiert wurde. Carter G. Woodson initiierte diese Woche, die die schwarze Geschichte und Leistungen der Afroamerikaners in den Vereinigten Staaten in den Fokus stellt. Sein Ziel war es, die breite Öffentlichkeit auf den Beitrag von Afroamerikanern zur Geschichte ihres Landes aufmerksam zu machen. Woodson wählte den Februar deshalb, weil in diesem Monat Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass und Langston Hughes geboren wurden.

1976 entstand unter Führung der #DukeUniversity der Black History Month. Jedes Jahr rufen die amerikanischen Präsidenten den Black History Month nun aus. Präsident Joe Biden schrieb dazu am 1. Feburar 2021: "This February, during Black History Month, I call on the American people to honor the history and achievements of Black Americans and to reflect on the centuries of struggle that have brought us to this time of reckoning, redemption, and hope. We have never fully lived up to the founding principles of this nation that all people are created equal and have the right to be treated equally throughout their lives. We know that it is long past time to confront deep racial inequities and the systemic racism that continue to plague our nation. ..."

Wie eigentlich jedes Jahr ist auch Michael Jackson im Black History Month erwähnt. Professor Mark Anthony Neal, Duke University: "Michael Jackson hat dem "Schwarz-Sein" künstlerisch und ästhetisch nie den Rücken gekehrt. Seine Arbeit geschah immer mit dem Blick auf die schwarze Kultur und dies nicht nur in den Vereinigten Staaten, sondern auch global."

Das amerikanische Magazin Billboard und auch Michael Jacksons Sohn Prince ehrten Michael Jackson. Prince ehrte wiederum über seine "Heal Los Angeles Foundation" zudem Michaels Mutter und seine Großmutter.

New York Exhibition celebrating Black Achievements in Music on Television to include Michael Jackson

The Paley Center for Media announces today its celebration of Black History Month, Paley Center’s Salute to Black Achievements in Music on Television presented by Citi. This multimedia exhibit Wednesday, February 1 to Sunday, February 26 at The Paley Museum in New York City will celebrate the intersection of legendary musical icons and unforgettable television moments that have made an impact on culture and society.

This year’s interactive experience features a curated selection of significant musical moments on television that convey how the medium showcased Black musical artists, introduced audiences to genres and styles of music that they might not have discovered otherwise, and served as a catalyst for cultural change throughout television’s nine decades. The immersive experience highlights pioneering musicians and towering talents such as Little Richard, Tina Turner, Queen Latifah, Ella Fitzgerald, The Supremes, Chuck Berry, Harry Belafonte, Aretha Franklin, Prince, Louis Armstrong, and more.

This exhibition will obviously include Michael Jackson and The Jackson 5.

On Saturdays and Sundays, “Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever” will be screened at 2.22pm. The musical special which includes Michael Jackson performing “Billie Jean” and introducing the world to the Moonwalk, will be played on a big screen. Also on those days at 5pm, A highlight of some of the best performers to grace the Soul Train stage including James Brown, Chuck Berry, Aretha Franklin, the Supremes, the Temptations, and Jackson 5, will be played.

In conjunction with the exhibition, the Paley Center will present The Storytellers: Preserving the Legacy of Iconic Black Musicians, a conversation with some of the storytellers who have helped preserve the legacy of Black musical icons, including Michael Jackson, Ella Fitzgerald, and Louis Armstrong on February 16 at 7:00 pm.

Anlässlich des Black History Month präsentiert das New Yorker Paley Center for Media vom 1. bis zum 26. Februar eine Hommage an die schwarzen Errungenschaften in der Musik im Fernsehen. Die Ausstellung feiert die Schnittpunkte zwischen legendären schwarzen Musikern und unvergesslichen TV-Momenten, die die heutige Kultur geprägt haben.

Die Multimedia-Galerie zeigt Höhepunkte bedeutender Auftritte im Laufe der Jahre, begleitet von Kostümen und Artefakten wie Louis Armstrongs Trompete, den „Orange Freeze“-Outfits der Supremes, einer Chuck Berry Gibson Guitar und vielem mehr. Das Erlebnis dreht sich um bahnbrechende Musiker und Talente wie: Little Richard, Tina Turner, Queen Latifah, Ella Fitzgerald, The Supremes, Chuck Berry, Harry Belafonte, Aretha Franklin, Prince und Louis Armstrong.

Natürlich sind auch Michael Jackson und die Jackson 5 in der Ausstellung vertreten.

„Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever“ wird samstags und sonntags um 14.22 Uhr gezeigt. In dem Musical Special singt Michael Jackson „Billie Jean“ und stellt der Welt den Moonwalk vor. An denselben Tagen wird um 17.00 Uhr ein Highlight mit einigen der besten Auftritte von Soul Train gezeigt, unter anderem mit James Brown, Chuck Berry und den Jackson 5.

For #BlackHistoryMonth we not only celebrate Michael as the first Black global pop icon, but we honor his work with the NAACP and the UNCF that aimed to expand voting rights and education access for Black Americans. Michael Jackson was a legend, no doubt. Zum #BlackHistoryMonth feiern wir Michael nicht nur als erste schwarze globale Pop-Ikone, sondern wir würdigen auch seine Arbeit mit der NAACP und der UNCF, die darauf abzielte, das Wahlrecht und den Zugang zu Bildung für schwarze Amerikaner zu erweitern.
