Dr. Tohme Tomhe: "The second half of Michael Jacksons career will be better than the first" !

Michael Jackson leases pricey Bel Air estate
    1 hour ago

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The King of Pop is back — in town, that is.

Michael Jackson has signed a yearlong lease on a mansion in the swanky Bel Air area of the city, a spokesman for the singer said Wednesday.

Jackson has been staying in the estate for about a month, said spokesman Tohme Tohme, who called the property "a little bit more than an average home."

The lease agreement is for $100,000 a month. The home has seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms and 12 fireplaces.

Jackson, 50, relocated to the city with his three children to be closer to Hollywood and the entertainment industry, said Tohme, promising that "the second half (of his career) will be better than the first."

Michael Jackson’s official and sole spokesperson, Dr. Tohme, in response to recent rumors regarding Michael’s alleged medical condition, has issued the following statement:

“Concerning this author’s allegations, we would hope in the future that legitimate media will not continue to be exploited by such an obvious attempt to promote this unauthorized ‘biography.’

The writer’s wild allegations concerning Mr. Jackson’s health are a total fabrication.

Mr. Jackson is in fine health, and finalizing negotiations with a major entertainment company & television network for both a world tour and a series of specials and appearances.”

Lenny Kravitz Working On Song For MJ

(5-12-2008) In an interview on German TV (RTL) singer Lenny Kravitz said that he is currently working on a song for Michael Jackson.

He said: "I got a call from Michael but I didn't believe it was him and hung up.

About 10 minutes later he came back on the line and I lied I got cut off driving in a tunnel. I've written songs for him."

Song "Baby's Fire" Added to Michael Jackson's BMI Repertoire

Just a short notice to inform you that today, January 9, 2009, a new song was added to Michael Jackson's BMI Repertoire with a given title of "Baby's Fire" -- alternate titles include "Higher Baby's Fire" and "Baby's on Fire."

The credits name Michael Jackson and Ryan D. Groves as the songwriters/composers, with Michael's MiJac Music listed as the sole publisher (as with all of Michael's BMI works).

It is believed (but not yet confirmed) that the Ryan Groves in question is a singer/songwriter from Santa Monica, CA--the same region that Michael Jackson has recently moved to. According to Mr. Groves' MySpace page: "What separates Ryan from your average 'Singer/Songwriter' genre artists is his ability to create unique songs in structure and melody, and his ability to hit home with strong metaphorical lyrics."

There is no clear information available about this track at this time, and it is entirely possible that it only samples one of Michael Jackson's prior hits. The track has not been officially released in any form. Michael Jackson's spokesperson confirmed earlier this week that he moved to Los Angeles so that he could be closer to "where all the action is" and added that "the second half (of Michael Jackson's career) will be better than the first."

In related news, MJJR.net can confirm that the story circulated earlier this week about a new single being released by L.A. Lewis featuring Michael Jackson is false. MJJR.net spoke with Mr. Lewis and previewed the track in question, and it is actually a remix of Jason Malachi's "Let Me Let Go" which has no connection to Michael Jackson, despite it being erroneously attributed as such by many (including L.A. Lewis).

Is Akon Working On Michael Jackson’s Comeback Album?

Posted on January 11, 2009 at 11:49 pm in Transcript

Kevin Nottingham spoke with Akon in a Q&A, asking the singer about whether he’s been working with Michael Jackson on his comeback album.

“Um, of course Mike is probably working on something very special,” Akon responded.

“I can’t get into full detail exactly what is going on with the project. And that’s just more so that we can have the leverage this time without stuff getting leaked around. But um, just be looking for something later in the future… I just can’t tell you when.”

Akon also talked about his ‘Hold My Hand’ duet with Jackson that leaked on the internet and was then pulled off his latest album.

  • Michael Jackson meets with Stargate

I couldn't find any information on this posted anywhere on the forum, but if it's there and I've missed it, then just close this thread.

In Norwegian media, there is news today about Michael meeting up with Stargate ( Norwegian producers, having previously written songs for Ne-Yo, Rihanna, Beyonce, Nas and several more). There are several articles about the meeting, however they are all in Norwegian.

Får norsk hjelp |  TV 2 Underholdning

All the articles states pretty much the same. Michael had lunch with the two producers, they have given him songs, but no recordings have been made yet. The songs are said to be very melodic, with Michael's vocals being the central element. Michael was - according to the guys - very talkative, and they were both amazed to finally meet him. "We had a nice lunch with Michael for a while back, where we spoke about music and songs for the new album", Tor Erik Hermansen said to the Norwegian newspaper Dagsavisen.

    More information about Stargate:

Stargate is a Norwegian production and songwriting team, composed of Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel S. Eriksen, based in New York City. The team's genre includes R&B, pop and hip hop.

Stargate broke into the American recording industry with the Billboard Hot 100 number-one single "So Sick" by American singer Ne-Yo, which they produced and co-wrote with Ne-Yo. They also produced and co-wrote the worldwide hit single "Irreplaceable" for Beyoncé Knowles, which topped the Hot 100 for ten consecutive weeks, becoming the biggest song of 2007; the feat gave Stargate their best-performing produced single, to date. The team has worked with various American artists and has been receiving mainstream awards including the Songwriters of the Year accolade at the 2007 ASCAP/PRS.

On Ne-Yo's third solo-album, Year of the Gentleman, Stargate have produced and co-written four songs, among them the singles "Closer" and "Miss Independent", the latter of which had reached number one on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.[22] Stargate received nominations in 12 categories for the 2009 Grammy Awards.[23] They have also been meeting with Michael Jackson, discussing about writing songs for his new upcoming album.

  • T-Pain Confirms Three Track Collaboration with Michael Jackson

In a new interview published by CTVglobemedia, it was confirmed that T-Pain worked with Michael Jackson on three different music tracks. On the experience, T-Pain stated: "It was weird when I first saw him because, you know, he's Michael Jackson! And then, after he started talking, he was like a regular cool guy."

In October of 2008, T-Pain announced that he had finished two tracks with Michael Jackson, which indicates that the third track may have been recorded between November 2008 and now.

Back in 2008, T-Pain announced: "I did two pieces with Michael Jackson, so I'm pretty much done; my list is all checked off... I just worked on [Michael Jackson's] new album. He actually invited me to his house. So I went to his house and it was pretty much that day where we just hung out. I never thought Michael Jackson would ever work with me. He actually sent for me, so that was kind of weird and cool at the same time."

Whether or not any of these collaborations will appear on Michael Jackson's forthcoming album is unknown at this time--the same holds true for all collaborations that Michael Jackson has done since 2005.

Having already won one Grammy plus many other industry awards, he has accomplished a lot in a short time and with little fanfare. He maintained that he has already crossed off his wish list of collaborators and he has lost count of how many songs bear his name. When asked about Michael Jackson – they just worked together on three songs – his answer was classic T-Pain.

  • Moroccan producer RedOne dancing atop charts

    Tue Jan 20, 2009 11:49pm GMT
    By Dean Goodman

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - If the U.S. and British pop charts are any guide, a producer from Morocco might be one of the hottest names in the music industry right now.

Los Angeles-based RedOne produced and co-wrote dance-pop singer Lady GaGa's single "Just Dance," which has ruled the charts on either side of the Atlantic for two weeks. The tune will also vie for a dance Grammy on February 8.

"Just Dance" is one of six RedOne contributions to Lady GaGa's debut album "The Fame," which is currently No. 3 in Britain and No. 14 in the United States.

RedOne (real name: Nadir Khayat) is currently working with Enrique Iglesias, and has partnered with his friend, R&B singer Akon, on top-secret sessions with Michael Jackson.

He has no idea when -- or even if -- their recordings will see the light of day. No plans have been announced for a Jackson album.

"With Michael you never know until you see the CD," RedOne said in a recent interview. "If it happens or not, it's OK. I worked with Michael. It's something I've done in my life."

It's been a long road from Morocco, where the 36-year-old was the youngest of nine children in an educated, Westernized family, to the old Charlie Chaplin film lot in Hollywood, where RedOne rents a basement recording studio.

As a child of '80s pop music, he can thank the Swedish rock group Europe from rescuing him from a career in architecture or medicine. One of his brothers, who had been studying in France, brought home the Europe album "The Final Countdown."

  • John Legend covers new ground with Evolver

Over the course of three albums, John Legend has ascended to R&B leading man. But it hasn’t been a completely solo ride. His new disc, Evolver, includes collaborations with Andre 3000, Kanye West, Brandy and Estelle. Here’s a look at some of Legend’s best, and most unlikely, pairings:

Stephen Colbert: Legend makes up for that last collaboration here. He dropped by The Colbert Report and sang alongside the show’s star several times, including a take on Michael Jackson’s The Girl Is Mine, a Star-Spangled Banner duet and an ode to nutmeg. In a word — awesome.

Michael Jackson: Legend says he’s written a tune for the former King of Pop’s long-delayed comeback record. It’s anyone’s guess if, or when, this materializes.

As usual, of course, the work is a result of a large creative process.

Will I Am explains and describes the outcome of the new album for „Mojo” magazine:

„The rhythm is not very erratic / the beats are not too crazy. But, definitely, the vocals are simply incredible. Some songs could stand the test of time / could stay relevant for generations to come.”

  • Ne-Yo's Jackson prediction

    Friday, 30 January 2009

Ne-Yo says Michael Jackson's comeback could be the "greatest ever".

The R'n'B singer - who is currently touring with the Pussycat Dolls - has been writing songs for the 'Thriller' singer's new LP, and admits he is incredibly excited about Michael's material.

He said: "I've been submitting songs and he's been picking the ones he likes. But I've no idea when the album will come out. That's a question for Michael."

"This is such a huge record for him so he can be as picky as he likes. It's either going to be the greatest comeback ever or a really sad attempt at recapturing old glories. And we don't want it to be the latter."

Ne-Yo - whose real name is Shaffer Chimere Smith - admits he was shaking like a leaf the first time he met his idol to discuss the album.

He said: "He is one of my heroes and meeting him was surreal. At first, I didn't know what to say but we soon broke the ice by chatting about music."

"Also it's no secret I hung up on him the first time he called. "Someone calling himself 'Mike' rang me, and I hung up because I thought it was a joke. Ten minutes later, I got a call from his manager saying that Michael Jackson really did want to talk to me."

Ne-Yo - who has previously penned hits for Rihanna, New Kids On The Block, Celine Dion and Lionel Richie - recently revealed he wants to duet with 'Just Dance' singer Lady GaGa.

The 29-year-old star said: "I really hope Lady GaGa and I can work together. I have never been so excited about an artist before.

THRILLER? Well, MICHAEL JACKSON is hoping to Beat It with his first studio album in EIGHT YEARS.

The King of Pop will release his new record the moment he takes to the stage at London’s 02 Arena for his sold-out This Is It tour.

Jackson is desperate to produce his best CD yet and so he’s gathered his brightest pals together to knock his efforts in to shape in the hope it can be released this summer.

American artists WILL.i.AM and NE-YO are some of the driving force behind this latest unnamed effort.

KANYE WEST has also submitted some songs and Michael wants to get JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, RIHANNA and CHRIS BROWN (er, that’s asking for trouble) to keep the album fresh. Jackson has also suggested that this album is likely to be his last.

Jackson Bound For US After London Shows?

    March 17, 2009

You can put down your suitcase! It sounds like you won't have to fly to England to see Michael Jackson's final performances after all.

Vegas Deluxe is reporting that the recently announced shows at London's O2 Arena are just a warm-up for a series of concerts here in the U.S.

According to the Web site, the 50-concert run in London could be just one part of a three-year master plan that could net the King of Pop up to $500 million.

"There’s a solid rumor that when Michael’s first England run ends in September and resumes again there in January," reports the site, "that he may well do a series of U.S. concerts."

"Although [concert promoters] AEG wants him to appear in Las Vegas, it’s more likely it will be in New York or L.A. where there are arenas with 15,000 to 20,000 seats," it says.

The site quotes a British source as saying, “The London ticket sales were really a testing of the water... There’s no question that Michael and AEG are discussing a world tour now.”

  • Michael Jackson begins rehearsals; Ne-Yo, Will.I.Am work on album

    Posted March 17, 2009 • 5:33 a.m.
    Luxe Life Blog

It’s highly possible that Michael Jackson’s new 50-concert run in London is part of a three-year master plan that could net the King of Pop a staggering $500 million! I’ve talked all weekend long with my old Fleet Street pals and discovered a goldmine of gossip nuggets!

There’s a solid rumor that when Michael’s first England run ends in September and resumes again there in January that he may well do a series of U.S. concerts. Although AEG wants him to appear in Las Vegas, it’s more likely it will be in New York or L.A. where there are arenas with 15,000 to 20,000 seats.

“The London ticket sales were really a testing of the waters,” one source told me. “There’s no question that Michael and AEG are discussing a world tour now.”

AEG is the giant concert promoter that also controls the new Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and The Colosseum at Caesars Palace here. In fact, owner and Denver billionaire Phillip Anschutz had to give his OK and the guarantee to the company to sign Michael to the $50 million to $100 million earnings commitment in London!

To date, AEG has been able to secure insurance for only the first 10 shows. However, Anschutz is prepared to self-insure the remaining shows in Britain, but negotiations over large premiums with Lloyds of London underwriters are continuing.

    Here’s what else I learned:

Michael is now back in L.A. where the show’s strategy and rehearsals will get underway with director-choreographer Kenny Ortega. Michael is already plotting a new dance routine to outshine his moonwalk.

Vegas superstar Ne-Yo will join with Will.I.Am to complete Michael’s album, which will be released at the same time as the first concerts. Ne-Yo is scheduled to perform in July on one of the open alternating dates at 02 Arena.

It’s rumored that a new 3D version of “Thriller” will be produced in time for the London premiere July 8! AEG’s London chieftain Randy Phillips commented: “There will be a new Michael Jackson single before the first date.” He also hinted that the new album might even be given away free to fans who attend the shows. “Michael has got some new music, and he is looking for a new way of disseminating his material to his fans.”

Michael was wooed for two years by AEG for the London gigs. When he decided to green light them, he told them it was for his financial future and that his children were now old enough to see him in concert. Kenny, who produced the “Sirens of T.I.” on the Strip, is promising the most elaborate and fabulous spectacular ever staged!

Phillips revealed: “Michael wants to use some technical effects that have never been seen before.” London insiders say that could include an opening where he duplicates Criss Angel or other Strip magicians by floating over the stage and landing on a center mark!

A small army of Michael Jackson look-alike dancers might be recruited as a backup troupe to handle the more challenging routines so the 50-year-old singer won’t be strained during the nightly 100-minute production, his first since 1997.

First headlines out of London indicate that Rod Stewart might rent Michael his sprawling mansion on a 180-acre estate 4 miles outside London.

On a final note about the current L.A. activities of our on-and-off Vegas resident: The proposed April 21 auction of his Neverland estate can go ahead for now with promotion, advertising and catalog mailings at least until an April 3 court hearing. Apparently, Michael wanted to keep the gates to Neverland that were listed in the auction catalogs, and that is one of the sticking points.

Vegas DeLuxe will continue to monitor the auction, as well as the concerts as the July premiere ticks closer. Remember I will be there on opening night to send back live reports from the concert that you’ll only read on Vegas DeLuxe as it happens!

    Michael Jackson Appoints New Management

Leonard Rowe, legendary promoter, to steer singer’s latest comeback

Beverly Hills, CA (March 27, 2009) – Michael Jackson, universally acclaimed as the King of Pop, today named Leonard Rowe, the legendary concert promoter from Atlanta, as his new Manager. Rowe succeeds Dr. Tohme Tohme.

“I am very pleased that Leonard has accepted my offer to manage my business affairs during this important period in my career,” stated Jackson. He added, “Leonard Rowe has been a long-time friend and business associate whose judgment I have come to trust.”

Rowe has worked closely with Michael and the Jackson Family since promoting the family’s “Off the Wall Tour” in March 1979. “For the past 30 years, I have had a great feeling of admiration for Michael and his family,” said Rowe. “We worked hard together and made history on the ‘Off the Wall Tour.’ I am grateful to Michael for this opportunity and look forward to once again working with my friend to ensure a successful and historic comeback,” stated an enthusiastic Rowe.

Rowe has been a staunch advocate for African-American rights in the concert promotion industry for the past 35 years. His landmark antitrust and civil rights litigation against nearly every concert promoter and agency in the music industry won the promoter a no-nonsense reputation for challenging the status quo.

Renowned Civil Rights leader Dr. Joseph Lowery recently said, “Rowe has fought hard to preserve the rights of both African-American promoters and artists in the music industry against rampant industry discriminatory practices.”

Rowe has dedicated his career to successfully promoting and touring hundreds of acts, including the Jacksons, Prince, R. Kelly and the late Marvin Gaye.

"Akon has also worked on Wanna Be Startin' Something for Thriller 25, a remake of the biggest selling album of all time. He admires Michael Jackson very much as artist."

Akon: "I think he's one of the greatest pop artist that will ever live. He set the standard so high, that it's hard for artists to match that. It's very hard, it's not easy."

De Rode Loper: "But you are trying?"

Akon: "As far as credibility, I'm definately trying. As record sales I don't think anyone will ever sell more than 200 million albums."

"There are rumours that Akon will produce the new album of Michael Jackson. That would be the greatest honour for Akon."

Akon: "That's a very big accomplishment. He doens't collaborate with too many people at all. I can't remember he ever collaborated with anyone outside of Paul McCartney."

  • Michael Jackson Tour Update

    May 12, 2009

Michael Jackson is focussed - focussed on the most successful comeback and concert spectacular in history!
For six hours a day, four days a week Jackson is locking himself, his crew and his dancers away for extensive top-secret rehearsals. The King of Pop is in such good shape that he is having absolutely no trouble keeping up at dance rehearsals - even though the dancers are less than half his age! Jackson is even believed to be working on a brand new dance move which he is hoping will become somewhat of a trademark, much like his gravity-defying and legendary “moonwalk”.
Jackson has once again, as previously reported, teamed up with Kenny Ortega - who helped Jackson stage two of the biggest and most spectacular music tours in history to date - the 1992/93 ”Dangerous World Tour” and 1996/97 “HIStory World Tour”. Recently Ortega is known for masterminding the “Highschool Musical” movie choreography. His role in the “This Is It” Jackson shows is Producer and Director.
Randy Phillips, President and CEO of concert promoter AEG Live is extremely pleased of Jackson’s choice of show director. “Michael and Kenny are creating an escapist adventure that will take the audience on an entertainment experience only imagined in dreams or big budget motion pictures. This is the perfect pairing on unique creative talents with the greatest repertoire in contemporary music”, said Phillips.
“It’s going to be the biggest, most technologically advanced arena show — and the most expensive — ever mounted!”, Randy explained. “Two-hour all-singing and all-dancing spectaculars. Michael Jackson is a perfectionist so it’s going to be amazing!”. Phillips also revealed that Michael will belt out anything from 18 to 22 songs - believed to be mainly his biggest smash hits, with the possibility of new music being included as well!
All 50 shows sold out within hours of going on sale, and broke a long list of concert tour and music industry records along the way. “The unprecedented demand for these shows turned a normal public on sale into a cultural phenomenon and pushed the boundaries by which we measure success.”
It is believed that a brand NEW Michael Jackson single will be released in the coming months - sometime before the opening concert on July 8th. At this point there is no solid information on the proposed release date, or title of the track.

  • Michael Jackson gathers chilean Humberto Gatica for his new album and DVD

The singer did contact Humberto Gatica, nephew of singer Lucho Gatica and famous international producer, to be part of the staff for his comeback.

While half of the planet want to find out how many shows will do Michael Jackson in his London comeback, Humberto Gatica has other worries with the singer. Almost the opposite: the trust, the friendship, the future and the sons. This is what they speak each other about three weeks ago, when the artist phoned the most powerfull chilean producer to his personal phone number, the man who works in the technical staff headed by Quincy
Jones and the staff who worked in the essentials "Thriller" (1982) and "Bad" (1987).

The Jackson phone call has another plan for him. The most personal and secret project about his comeback, which nobody knows muchs at this stage: to go back to the recording studio for his new album and to film some of the London shows for a new DVD.

"He called because we know each other and because he trust me. He want me to go back to work with him and to be part of his team. Today everybody have doubts about him; at the same time, he doesn't trust nobody and he's in contact again with his circle of partners which he felt safe, with the ones which he spent his best time in the old scholl, altough there's no much left. He wants to feel protected again" says Gatica, in our phone conversation from Capitol Records studios in Los Angeles, where he's working on Michael Bublé's new album.

Gatica adds: "We have to see how everything is going forward, because Jackson's new album will be amazing, but is also an work that takes so much for him and perhaps a pretentious work. He had worked for a long time in songs and he doesn't know if spend his free days between the shows re-worked them or to wait for the fresh popular image he will regain with his comeback".
Gatica will travel to London to see some of the shows and he's thinking about to spend some weeks there to work in the recording of the shows. "His entire team, dancers, chorus, and sound engineers has rented houses to live in London. Nobody will stay at hotels. Maybe I will join them", said.

He also has worked for Celine Dion or Andrea Bocelli and has defend the amercian singer. Indeed he did accept to work in his last fiascos: "Invincible" (2001), his last album, and the never released song for the victims of Katrina hurricane back in 2005.

That's why he has a unique privilege: to know from the own words of the singer his feelings about the 50 shows. Gatica reveals: "I find him really fast, very clear, very sharp, really focused on the shows. I have no doubt he's algo phisically fit, because he's a perfectionist. He wants to tour in Europe after that. We also talk about sons, family and hollidays. I felt him relaxed".

Gatica has it clear: while everyone thinks in another letdown, the former king of pop is convinced in the vitory.

    08.06.2009

Will.i.am is talking about his fav albums, Michael's 'Off The Wall' being among them:

'Clifford, my neighbour in Los Angeles, was the biggest Michael Jackson fan ever.'

'Michael and i have done a bunch of songs for his next record. There is a couple that are songwriting collaborations. They're in a hard dance style, but i can't say the titles as i don't wanna step on his toes. We recorded in Ireland and in Las Vegas. He's still on fire.'
