-
ich werde euch sagen was passiert:nix!!!!

Labor officials back at Neverland
SCOTT STEEPLETON, NEWS-PRESS SENIOR WRITER
March 15, 2006 12:00 AMState labor investigators were back at Neverland Valley Ranch on Tuesday to determine whether singer Michael Jackson was operating his Los Olivos compound with hired help.
Aside from an unnamed relative who was "securing" the 2,600-acre ranch on a volunteer basis and animal care workers temporarily on the payroll of a local veterinary clinic, the singer appeared to be complying with a March 9 order by the state Department of Industrial Relations to not use paid employees, department spokeswoman Renee Bacchini told the News-Press.
The unannounced visit came the same day Mr. Jackson was to have paid at least $306,000 in back wages and a $100,000 penalty for allegedly withholding three months' worth of pay from at least 30 employees.
But after discussing the matter with his accountants in Los Angeles, the state gave the singer until the close of business today to come up with the cash.
"It looks like they are trying to pull the money together," said Ms. Bacchini.
The amount of back pay and penalties is likely to increase, Ms. Bacchini added, as the investigation continues.
State investigators say there are at least 69 employees at Neverland.
Tuesday's action is part of an investigation into claims that some employees have not been paid since Dec. 19, 2005.
In addition, Mr. Jackson, 47, is accused of failing to provide workers' compensation insurance, which pays medical bills when employees are hurt on the job and pays for lost time following an on-the-job injury.
This alleged lapse could cost Mr. Jackson another $69,000 in fines. He has until March 24 to prove a policy is in place.
Mr. Jackson is said to be out of the country. Since being acquitted of child molestation charges last year, he has spent most of his time in the Persian Gulf kingdom of Bahrain.
If the money doesn't arrive today, Ms. Bacchini said Robert Jones, the acting state labor commissioner, could file a complaint in court.

Deadline looms for Michael Jackson to pay up
Pop star owes $300,000-plus in back pay, plus other finesWednesday, March 15, 2006; Posted: 1:53 p.m. EST (18:53 GMT)
A boy tries to peek at Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara County, California, in May 2005.
(CNN) -- Michael Jackson has told state officials he is trying to secure workers' compensation insurance and $306,000 in back pay owed to his Neverland Ranch employees, said a spokeswoman for the California Department of Industrial Relations.
The state likely will sue the pop star if the money isn't paid by a 5 p.m. (8 p.m. ET) Wednesday deadline, spokeswoman Rene Bacchini said Tuesday.
California granted Jackson a one-day extension but already has fined him $100,000 for failing to pay the back wages and an additional $69,000 for not having workers' compensation insurance for his employees.
In the meantime, Neverland employees were staying away from the ranch in compliance with the department's "stop order" imposed last week because of the insurance lapse, Bacchini said.
Jackson has not been living at Neverland in recent months. Shortly after he was acquitted on child molestation charges in June, he relocated to Bahrain, a small nation in the Persian Gulf.
He is due back in the United States on March 23 to give a deposition in a civil case in New York.
Investigators did find one Jackson family member volunteering as a security guard. Also, a veterinarian -- who preferred to remain anonymous -- has arranged to have all of Neverland's animal caretakers placed on his payroll so that Jackson's exotic animals could receive necessary care, Bacchini said.
The department also made arrangements with the local animal control agency to care for the animals "so they were never left without care," she said.
Neverland, equipped with an amusement park and a zoo, figured prominently in the child molestation case against Jackson.
Prosecutors charged that the one-time "King of Pop" used the ranch's playful atmosphere to lure teenage boys for his sexual gratification. Jackson steadfastly denied the charges, insisting Neverland was a haven for innocent fun.
After 32 hours of deliberation, a Santa Barbara County jury acquitted Jackson on all 10 charges against him.
During the trial, Jackson's representatives said he had no plans to sell Neverland or leave the country. They also denied assertions by prosecutors that he was facing severe financial problems.
But nearly four dozen employees at the ranch complained to the Department of Industrial Relations that they had not been paid since December. During the investigation of those complaints, the lapse in the workers' compensation coverage was uncovered.
CNN's Dree De Clamecy contributed to this report.

Jacko Will Pay Wages in 11th Hour
Wednesday, March 15, 2006
Michael Jackson's representatives waited literally until the 11th hour, but they've agreed to pay 3 months of back wages to Jackson's 69 employees at the Neverland Ranch.
Once the wages have been paid, The California State Department of Industrial Relations says, all fines and penalties will also be due.
A press release said: “The total amount in back-wages paid will be known when the payroll process is completed and we have verified Jackson’s records. DIR will then calculate the total amount in penalties and act to ensure they are paid. Verified back-wage and penalty amounts should be available early next week.â€
But employees are not allowed back to work at Neverland until Jackson gets a workmen's compensation plan in place. Right now workers at the ranch — security, etc. — are being supplied by a different company than Jackson's.
My sources say that it was Jackson's sister Janet Jackson who came up with the money at the last minute. Jackson himself has not communicated with any of his employees or the State on this matter.

Jackson to pay staff back wages
Jackson moved abroad soon after his acquittal
Singer Michael Jackson has agreed to pay overdue wages to staff at his Neverland ranch, hours before a legal deadline ran out, state officials say.
At least 30 workers are owed $306,000 (£174,000) in unpaid wages dating back to December last year.Jackson was threatened with a lawsuit if he did not pay up by a Tuesday deadline, later extended to Wednesday.
However, he will still be fined for allowing workplace insurance at the California ranch to lapse.
The wages will be paid on Thursday, said a statement from the California Department of Industrial Relations. "There is no need to take legal action in this matter at this time," said Robert Jones, acting California labour commissioner.
Jackson, who is overseas, was cleared of child abuse charges in June 2005.
Insurance fine
No staff have been allowed to work on the 1,100 hectare (2,800 acre) Neverland estate in California.
The private estate came under scrutiny during Jackson's 2005 trialGardeners and maintenance staff for Jackson's amusement park are employed as well as domestic staff in the house.
Jackson was fined $169,000 (£97,000) in January for failing to renew employer's insurance. He has 30 days to appeal against that fine, which was issued last week.
The animals in the ranch's zoo are to be cared for by the local authority, and have included elephants, giraffes, snakes, tigers and a crocodile.
Jackson's spokeswoman, Raymone Bain, said the singer does not comment on matters involving his finances because he considers them to be private.
Jackson is currently living in Bahrain, but has denied rumours published in a British newspaper last weekend that he plans to relocate to London.
"He's not purchased a house in London, he's not been scouting schools for his kids, he has no intention to moving to London," said Ms Bain.
"This is totally erroneous and they need to stop it."

Jackson to pay workers but Neverland still closed
Updated: 10:08 p.m. ET March 15, 2006LOS ANGELES - Pop star Michael Jackson has made arrangements to pay employees at his shuttered Neverland Valley Ranch for the first time since December, avoiding legal action by the state of California, authorities said Wednesday.
But Neverland, which effectively was closed by the state last week because Jackson allowed his workers' compensation insurance to lapse, will remain shut down until the singer obtains the proper insurance, California Department of Industrial Relations spokesman Dean Fryer said.
"Mr. Jackson's representatives are working to secure workers' compensation insurance but they have not done so and without workers' comp they cannot employ workers at Neverland," Fryer said. "We did verify yesterday that there was no one at Neverland working."
California's labor commissioner had fined Jackson $100,000 and threatened to sue the 47-year-old entertainer unless he made good on at least $306,000 in back wages dating to December.
Fryer said agents for Jackson resolved that issue by assuring the state that payroll would be distributed to the employees by Thursday.
He said Jackson would still have to pay penalties on the back wages, which would be calculated by state officials based on the number of employees who filed claims.
Security at the sprawling ranch in the central California foothills has been handled by family members since employees were barred from the premises, Fryer said. Jackson had contracted with a local veterinarian to care for the animals at Neverland's zoo.
Jackson, who was cleared last June of criminal charges that he sexually abused a young boy at Neverland, has spent much of his time since the trial in Bahrain.
Fryer said it was not clear if the self-proclaimed "King of Pop" had returned to California to clear up the payroll and insurance issues.
Prosecutors asserted during Jackson's child molestation trial the pop singer was in precarious financial shape due to mounting debts.

Zahl-Tag für Jacko
16.03.2006 | 09:08:10
