Michael Jackson Working On "All Kinds" of New Music
Today 10:20 AM PST by Josh Grossberg
Taking a break from a shopping excursion on Beverly Hills' Rodeo Drive, Michael Jackson exclusively revealed to E! News that he's "constantly" working on new songs, some of which he might debut on his in-the-works world tour.
The erstwhile King of Pop said he bought "many nice things" while shopping Friday with pal Christian Dior for about 45 minutes at the latter's namesake store, after which the two beat it over to Dolce & Gabana for another spree.
Jackson, who has recently taken up residence in Beverly Hills, said he had "all kinds of titles" in the works, but did not elaborate.
The Gloved One's rep said Jackson is preparing "both a world tour and a series of specials and appearances"—his first live public performances since his 20th anniversary solo show at New York's Madison Square Garden in 2001 and his last tour in 1996.
The former hitmaker has also sealed a deal with the Nederlander to stage a Broadway musical based on Thriller.
ZitatAlles anzeigenso its been a long time since ive posted... but here goes.
The rumour is that AEG are going to announce MJ this week as performing a Prince like residency. No idea on # of concerts etc, but im hearing it will be in July.
I know this has been going round for some time now, but it seems that something may well have been inked last week. I wouldnt be suprised if this doesnt materialise considering how flakey MJ is, but one can hope.
I work in the mobile industry now, and have tried to triangulate this through both media friends, as well as o2 employees, and it does seem something is happening.
dont kill me if it doesnt...
ZitatAlles anzeigenlooks like im not the only one to pick up on this....
People: Adam Sherwin - Times Online
Mark is well known in my old world and he has worked for MJ before (i think during the LWMJ furore) So i suspect he has been hired to do the ground work.
As for the Times suggesting a mime fest... i doubt anyone other than MJ knows of the agenda at this stage. Especially on the miming front.
Get those fingers ready on the speed dial!!
let me make some phone calls... see if i can garner any more info. Will be back!
[...]
ok, the latest is that Genevieve Glover (head of HR at AEG) has put a strict embargo on any discussions regarding the July/Aug/Sept slots. There is stuff brewing, but by all accounts, its merely pen to paper. There has been NO activity in regards to set design, rehersals, plans yada yada.
I know the Auction PR is being managed locally in the UK and that it has been viewed as a success as a result of the PR generated (full press coverage, bbc etc) - So tying the two together, it would make sense to view the auction as a jumping board to bigger and better things.
Anecdotally i was told that the auction works well as a "out with the old in with the new" statement - so get rid of the junk, and launch a new campaign based on what the man does best.... Being on stage.
And.... can i just say, a few other sites seem to be tripping on a negative vibe. ie, if he mimes i will be pissed off etc. Well, lets just put it out there that he probably will, and if thats the case, then dont buy any tickets. For me, it would be a minor miracle if he did indeed perform considering his health, looks, confidence, age etc are all in major decline.
So i for one am going to embrace some positivity (for once!) and say, good on ya Mike, happy to see you in whatever guise it may be.
Februar:
ZitatAlles anzeigenSomebody in the music biz told me earlier today that it 'looks like it is happening'.
But then again, last time around Sony were telling people it was happening. As you may know... it didn't.
Just got a text from the same industry source saying, "It's on."
I still won't believe it until it is announced. AEG thought it was on last time, but MJ never signed the papers.

Zitatin the great popbitch tradition..press conference at 12. Seriously though.... Murmurs of one wed or thursday... its defo gathering momentum but this could be a massive self fulfilling prophecy.

ZitatAlles anzeigenSo the press this morning.... There is no more to this, then what i discovered at the start of the week. They have been slow to pick up on the same rumours, but the discussions are no more solid than what they were mid week. So do not view this as confirmation.
Its basic PR, whereby you put out the feelers and get a perception of the customer feedback. What is the general feeling for a run at the o2... Thats whats happening here. The MJ material and coverage will now be monitored to see the reaction and this will determine next steps. Theres so much to take into consideration, and insurance is a major factor. Theyve got that right, as in the past MJ no shows have raised his insurance premiums to sky high levels and these are normally bourn by the venue.
Oh TV - quit getting your knickers in a twist over this. MJ is NOT going to be charging £500 a ticket. Thats an insane presumption and any press regarding £5M a show is a total fabrication. Expect tickets at the top range, but not £500. I suspect a milking session in the same vein as Spice Girls or Madonna. I reckon £50 to 75 for standard tickets and big bucks for the corporates and VIPs.
PS: its that peter lopez fella thats running the show here. Everything is going through him rather than MJ direct. Im hoping hes not another charlaten that is busy with power of attorney that MJ has no idea about. Its happened before.

ZitatI have been told to expect an announcement tomorrow.
Don't know what to make of that.
Source: Twisted Vision, MJ Dot Refugees (26. Februar)
There was supposed to be a press conference planned for either wed or today (as mentioned previously), but im told its looking very suspect. Next week at the earliest. If the rumours that Lopez is out are true (i have no evidence to say that is the case) than this deal will be off as its largely been negotiated and driven by him .
Source: blackstreet, MJ Dot Refugees (26. Februar)
ZitatAlles anzeigenRumours are abound that a press conference was supposed to take place yesterday or today, but something has gone wrong.
I have heard - although I'm not sure if it is right - that MJ has fired Peter Lopez. This could kill the entire deal because it was all negotiated by Peter Lopez.
If MJ has indeed fired Lopez, there is no doubt in my mind that he's done it with the specific intent of killing the O2 deal. Gone off the idea again and looking for a way out.
Let's hope it isn't true.

ZitatAlles anzeigenhot news:
march 2009: THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT (new single, album and upcomming concerts)
Michael made a BIG record deal with Universal and will indeed perform in the O2 and vegas
april 2009: early- the first new single, end- the new long awaited album, start selling tickets for London.
some songs on the album, "Heartless" and indeed "Life is a compass" (with Rihanna)
between Bower may and the end of june, a big intervieuw with a great talkshow host in america + first time public performance since 2002.
end july 2009, start concerts in O2
august and september 2009, more concerts in O2
fall 2009 concerts in Vegas.
prepare, THE KING IS ALMOST BACK!!!!!
can't tell you the source, I could lose my job.

Zitatyep, it has all gone quiet. Guess there is some truth in the peter lopez rumours. There is now an official standdown on all PR feeds in regards to the 02. (no more leaks on purpose) This normally happens for two reasons.
1. Its a firm go and they want to curtail any more rumours until the formal announcement to create the biggest bang
2. Its dead and they want to distance themselves from the "rumour"
That said, i was told there was some truth in MJ performing for the russian oligarch as a warm up exercise. An easy £2M for tuning up. Similar to what he has done in the past for Brunei.

MusicGoss King Of Pop - The Comeback!
