AEG LIVE: 3-Jahres-Plan Mit Michael Jackson + Weitere Konzerte Geplant

Nachdem die spezielle Mitteilung Michael Jacksons um die Welt geht und als Ende seiner Karriere gewertet wird, erklingen ganz andere Töne aus der Chefebene des Veranstalters "Anschutz Entertainment Group".

Randy Phillips, Vorsitzender und Aufsichtsratsvorsitzender der AEG LIVE erzählte "The Times", das die zehn Konzerte nur ein erster Schritt einer drei-jährigen Tour seien und ein neues Album auf den Markt kommt. Er sagte: “Die Pressekonferenz war der erste Schritt. Wir haben einen Drei-Jahres-Plan mit Michael Jackson und wenn alles gut läuft, werden wir $400,00.- Millionen als Gesamtbetrag einnehmen."

Er bestätigte, das Michael Jackson ca. £50 million für die London Shows einnehmen werde. Zukünftige Tours werden nach New York, Paris und Mumbai gehen.

Der Veranstalter muß jede Show ausverkauft haben, um aus den Gesamtplan Profit zu erlangen.

Außerdem werden Erlöse aus den Verkauf von Fanartikeln und DVDs der Shows angestrebt.

Somit scheint das Ende einer Karriere von der Bühne weniger der Fall zu sein und Michael wird einfach eine bestimmte Anzahl an Konzerten an verschiedenen Orten abhalten.

EXCLUSIVE: Janet to Make Guest Appearance with Michael at London’s O2 Concerts?

Janet Love has learnt that Janet will make a surprise appearance at one or more of brother Michael’s upcoming London concerts.

At a press conference today at London’s O2 Arena, Michael made a guest appearance to announce that he will be playing in the UK in July for 10 shows.
In a press release given to members of the media, it was announced that there would be several very special guests.

Janet Love - at the press conference in London today - was told by a very reliable management source that Janet would be one of those special guests.

Ich weiss nicht was du meinst. Und ohne Quelle ist blöd darüber zu diskutieren. Dann mach dich mal auf die Suche.

Und selbst wenn irgendwer irgendwo von Sony mal was gesagt haben soll, muss das ja nichts heissen. Erstens wissen nicht alle alles und zweitens können sich Pläne ändern, wie wir gestern gesehen haben.

Michael nimmt doch nicht umsonst soviel neue Musik über mehr als 2 Jahre auf.

Natürlich. Aber das ist besser als ein Abschied VOR 4 Jahren, von dem ich bis vor kurzer Zeit ausgegangen bin.

Und zudem kann Michael ja auch nach diesen dreieinhalb Jahren weiterhin in irgendeiner Weise aktiv sein.

Oder er überlegt es sich in den 3 Jahren anders und veröffentlicht noch viele weitere Alben von zu Hause aus sozusagen.

Auch die Möglichkeit kann es ja geben. Michael ist ein Künstler und ständig kreativ. Wer sagt denn, dass er nicht die Lust empfindet hier und dort mal wieder etwas zu veröffentlichen?

Billboard: Michael Jackson May Play 25 London Shows

AEG president and CEO Tim Leiweke revealed that Michael Jackson is set to perform 20 to 25 shows at London's O2 Arena and that the singer is "very focused." Leiweke was speaking during his keynote Q&A session at the Billboard Music & Money Symposium at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City.

"The man is very sane, the man is very focused, the man is very healthy," Leiweke said of Jackson. "I think he has been dragged through the mud."

As reported earlier, the run of Jackson shows, set to begin on July 9, will be announced at a press conference later today (March 5).

The shows will be promoted by AEG Live, which also put together Prince's record-setting run of 21 sellouts at the O2 that grossed more than $22 million. The Spice Girls, Take That, and Kylie Minogue all have played multiple nights at the London arena, and Britney Spears has an eight night run scheduled for June. AEG operates the O2 venue.

Leiweke told the Billboard Music & Money audience: "We’ll announce 10 shows. I think you'll see 20, 25 dates at the O2. His production budget is... Wow."

"Despite everything you read about him, he was fine," added Leiweke. "The man took a physical for us to go do these concerts."

Leiweke also confirmed that it has taken some time to get Jackson to agree to the deal. Jackson has not released a studio album or played a full concert since 2001. His last major tour was the "HIStory" World Tour in 1996-1997.

"We spent two years working with Michael trying to get him comfortable with this," said Leiweke.

Asked why the comeback was being staged in London at the O2, Leiweke commented: "It's the most important venue in music today. With all due respect to the Staples Center and the [Madison Square] Garden, the O2 is where you went to see Led Zeppelin reunite."
