    ..heute war die Strafbemessung für James Marks and James McCormick denen vorgworfen wurde den Sony-Server gehackt zu haben um an unveröffentlichte Musik von MJ zu gelangen. "Laut Staatsanwaltschaft waren sie sich voll bewusst, dass die Files, die sie auf ihren Comutern hatten Copyrightgeschützt sind und sie nahmen Anlauf für einen nächsten Schritt um sie zu verkaufen und die Musik mit einem größeren Publikum zu teilen."
    Nachdem sich beide zuvor schuldig bekannt hatten zu 2 Punkten des unautorisierten Zugriffs auf Comutermaterial wurden sie zu 6 Monaten auf Bewährung und 1 Jahr und 100 Stunden gemeinnütziger Tätigkeit verurteilt.




    Hackers Sentenced for Michael Jackson Music Theft

    A pair of U.K. hackers has been sentenced to 100 hours of community service for the theft of unreleased Michael Jackson tracks from Sony Music Entertainment.


    Officials say that music aficionados James Marks and James McCormick used their home computers to break into Sony's U.S. servers and scour them for Jackson-related material. Britain's Serious and Organized Crime Agency says the pair downloaded nearly 8,000 files, including completed or partial tracks, artwork, and videos.


    The 27-year-old Marks and 26-year-old McCormick were arrested in May 2011 after Sony alerted U.K. law enforcement to the breach. Chat logs recovered from their computers showed that they planned to sell or trade some of the files.


    They were handed suspended sentences and ordered to do community service at central England's Leicester Crown Court on Friday.

    “James Marks and James McCormick have today been sentenced for hacking the servers of one of the world’s largest recorded music companies from their home computers in Daventry and Blackpool respectively. Both huge enthusiasts of Michael Jackson, they targeted Sony Music which has the exclusive license to the late musician’s catalogue. At the time of his death, there existed recorded but unreleased Michael Jackson music which aroused the attention of Marks and McCormick.


    “It was the prosecution’s case that these men were fully aware that the files they obtained on their computers were subject to copyright and that they took steps to sell on and to share the music with a wider audience in internet forums.


    “In simple terms, these men broke into a computer system and took music files that were not theirs to take. That was criminal activity.”


    Background:


    They were sentenced at Leicester Crown Court to six months suspended for one year and 100 hours community requirement, having each pleaded guilty to two counts of unauthorised access to computer material.

    Two Michael Jackson fans have been given suspended jail sentences for hacking into Sony
    Music's US web servers.


    Leicester Crown Court heard James Marks and James McCormick accessed thousands of files.


    These included unreleased tracks by Michael Jackson and songs by other artists like JLS.


    The hack happened in 2011 but was only confirmed by the record company last March.


    The court heard there was a security flaw in the system used by Sony Music to share music
    with people outside the firm.


    Marks and McCormick were not the first to exploit this but they used an
    adapted programme to speed up the process of downloading files.


    The pair claimed they only wanted to gather evidence that some Jackson
    material released after his death didn't actually feature the singer's voice.


    Sony Music has always denied that vocals on some tracks on the posthumous
    album 'Michael' were done by another singer.

    In 2010 the firm paid $250 million (£158m) to Michael Jackson's estate for
    a seven-year deal for the rights to his remaining songs.


    The singer, who died in June 2009 at the age of 50, had recorded unreleased
    duets with artists ranging from the late Freddie Mercury to Black Eyed
    Peas singer will.i.am.


    Online conversations between Marks and McCormick were read out in court in
    which they talked about selling the material, but this never came to anything.


    The case was investigated by the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA).


    Head of cyber investigations Mick Jamieson said the men "knew exactly what
    they were doing, and knew the full implications".
    "The internet's a fantastic tool for everyone to use, but sadly there are one
    or two individuals who choose to misuse it.


    "The authorities are now able to to identify what you're doing, find out who
    you are, and come and arrest you."


    Marks, 27, from Daventry, and 26-year-old McCormick, from Blackpool, admitted
    two counts of unauthorised access to computing materials, and were given
    six month jail sentences, suspended for a year.


    More serious charges against the men were dropped last summer.


    Speaking outside court, James Marks said he was sorry for downloading the files
    but was still determined to prove Michael Jackson didn't sing on some
    tracks on 'Michael'.

    Lady Gaga is said to be planning to buy a share in Michael Jackson's former Neverland estate, and has plans to restore the ranch to its former glory.


    The 'Born This Way' singer is obsessed with him, and would love to own a part of the King of Pop's Neverland Ranch home and amusement park.


    A source told The Sun, "Lady Gaga is obsessed with Michael. She's become good friends with his sister LaToya and would love more than anything else to restore Neverland to its original state.


    "His kids are all desperate to hold on to their childhood home so they can decide what they want to do with it properly when they've grown up. Gaga would love to help with the financial costs by buying a share."


    Sycamore Valley Ranch currently own the $23million mortgage after buying it from Michael Jackson in 2008 when he was in financial difficulties. However, Michael's children Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket, still own shares - as does his mother, Katherine.

    Wenn das nur tot rumliegt, bestimmt. Oder zumindest Anteile daran... Man darf ja nicht vergessen, dass diese Sycamore Firma (und damit Neverland) Michael nur zum Teil gehörte.


    Also was ihr alle gegen die Gaga habt, weiß ich nicht. Ich würde es cool finden, wenn jemand sich der Sache endlich mal annimmt.

    The fallen former dermatologist to Michael Jackson has invited speculation he is the biological father of the late King of Pop’s son Prince after contrasting an old photo of himself with an image of the youngster on Facebook.
    Dr Arnie Klein, who has been mired in bankruptcy and financial woes in recent years, posted an old picture of himself beneath a photo of 15-year-old Prince Michael with the cryptic tag 'hmmmmm'.
    The photo appears to be a wry nod to conspiracy theorists who have speculated for years that Klein donated his own sperm to help the late King of Pop start a family.


    Hint hint? Michael Jackson's doctor, Arnold Klein, posted a comparison picture of himself and Jackson's son Prince Michael in a cryptic Facebook post


    Jackson, who died in 2009, fathered Prince Michael and daughter Paris with ex-wife Debbie Rowe, who previously worked as Klein’s assistant at his practice in Beverly Hills.
    Jackson’s third child Blanket was born by an anonymous surrogate in 2002.
    Rowe has never spoken publicly about the identity of the biological father of the children she bore Jackson.
    However the eccentric Klein has previously gone on record to rule out any role in the parenting of Jackson’s children.
    'To the best of my knowledge I am not the father of these children,' said Klein, who has fallen on hard times since the days when he boasted a celebrity clientele which included some of Hollywood’s biggest names.
    Klein, who once counted Elizabeth Taylor, Cher and Dolly Parton amongst his clients, has been forced to offload multi-million-dollar properties in Los Angeles and Laguna Beach since filing for bankruptcy in 2011.


    It is a far cry from the days when Klein owned a string of luxurious mansions stuffed with expensive art and celebrity memorabilia as well as a fleet of cars that included a Ferrari, a Bentley and a Rolls Royce. He also employed the services of a personal chef to cater to his every need.
    In one three-year period Klein spent an estimated $7 million on personal luxury items including $800,000 on holidays alone, according to a report last year.
    His continued ability to practice medicine has also come under the microscope, with authorities in California last year moving to revoke his license.
    The California Medical Board filed a request to revoke Klein’s license on the grounds he had refused to submit to mental and physical examinations.
    It followed a formal complaint against the doctor alleging substandard care of two unnamed patients.
