O.C. Woman Sues Santa Barbara DA For Unpaid Work
(AP) SANTA BARBARA, Calif.
An Orange County woman is suing the Santa Barbara County district attorney's office for more than $140,000 for her work on the Michael Jackson molestation case.
The suit, filed Friday, contends that Annette Reichert of Orange developed a computer database of evidence for the DA's office, which unsuccessfully prosecuted Jackson last year.
Her attorney says she is owed $40,000 for the work and deserves another $100,000 for giving up other work to create the database.
District Attorney Thomas Sneddon said Reichert never finished the work and vanished in the middle of the trial "leaving us high and dry."
