30 YEARS! 🤯
Wow!
Moments like this remind me how intense those weeks were. Michael had been rehearsing a lot, but there was so much new material happening at the same time, so many numbers to revisit and adjust. 😱
What really held everything together was the team. And to be precise: the only piece we took back to the original version was ‘Dangerous’ - he loved the other version we made, but there was no enough time to rehearse it. ⌚
We were the only ones who understood that this was exactly what he wanted - because he told us so, lol. 😅
None of this takes anything away from Michael. It just shows the pressure, the pace, and the size of what we were building. Even on the hardest days, everyone was there to support him and keep the show moving forward.
And I have to say this clearly: the team was outstanding!
I this video, you'll see 'Pop N Taco' playing MJ for ‘Thriller’, Kevin Dorsey handling the rap sections for "Jam", Jennifer Batten and David Williams kept the music tight, and everyone gave their all. That kind of dedication is why those moments still stay with me today. ❤️
At the end of the day, it was our job to keep everything ready in case he walked back into the room and stepped onto that stage. We stayed aligned, focused, and hopeful. Unfortunately, he never returned in time, and the Special was canceled. But the work, the unity, and the purpose we carried in those days are things I’ll never forget. 🙏🏾
The trend of people spontaneously breaking into a Michael Jackson dance routine in public continues – this time it’s dancer Blake McGrath jamming out to “Scream” in the supermarket.
