I just can confirm that it's true what they say: Michael Jackson will indeed perform at the World Music Awards 2006. And it will be spectacular. He will do a closed rehearsel on tuesday at the Earl's Court venue.

Michael Jackson to moonwalk at WMAs

LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Michael Jackson will perform live at the World Music Awards in London next week (15.11.06).

Jackson's costumes for the show will be designed by fashion designer Roberto Cavalli who visited the 'Thriller' singer at his home in Ireland yesterday (06.11.06) for a fitting.

The 48-year-old singer has not performed live since he sang 'Earth Song' at the 1996 BRIT Awards, where his performance was mocked by Pulp singer Jarvis Cocker.

Jackson is to be honoured with the Diamond Award which is given to artists who sell more than 100 million albums during their career.

World Music Awards founder Melissa Corken said: "We are thrilled to be bringing the ceremony to London. The presence of Michael Jackson is very exciting for us."

Jackson has been residing in the Republic of Ireland with his three children, Prince Michael, Paris and Prince Michael II, for the past few months and has made very few official public appearances since he was acquitted of child molestation charges in June 2005.

The 2006 World Music Awards will take place at London's Earls Court and will be hosted by Lindsay Lohan.

Beyoncé Knowles, Mary J. Blige, Katie Melua and Andrea Bocelli are all scheduled to perform.

Previous recipients of the Diamond Award include Rod Stewart, Mariah Carey and Celine Dion.

The award will coincide with the 25th anniversary of Jackson's hit album 'Thriller', which is the biggest selling album of all time.

Interessant. Das ist auch derjenige, der als erster Michael's Erscheinen bei der Veranstaltung angekündigt hat. Wenn er wirklich etwas performen sollte, so hoffe ich doch, dass es nicht ausschließlich aus altem Material bestehen wird, etwas neues wäre schon genial....

Also ich erwarte "nur" ein Medley um Thriller zu feiern...für was neues isses doch noch zu früh...trotzdem extrem geil, dass er wieder on Stage is!!!!

Mal sehen. Vielleicht wird mike ja auch wieder seine Originalfrisur den Leuten zur Verfügung stellen, so wie zuletzt 2002.

Als Programm würde ich vorschlagen:

Ja, Thriller-Medley erwarte ich dann auch mal, aber ein wenig kombiniert mit etwas neuem wäre ja wohl das Größte!!!

hauptsache er ist da, und die welt sieht ihn!

Ich denke mehr wie Screamy, da wird nix neues kommen, toll wäre es,aber auch irgendwie noch zu früh, find ich jetzt, so blöd das auch klingt Man merkt einfach, Michael WILL auf die BÜHNE zurück, er möchte es noch einmal wissen, es ist einfach ein wundervolles Gefühl für mich (wir) als Fans

vielleicht wurde das auch schon geschrieben, bzw. gefragt, aber...kommt das irgendwo im deutschen fernsehen?

was er performt usw. is mir egal. ich lass das mal alles auf mich zukommen

Manche sagen, es käme auf Pro7 oder im ZDF.
