In the lawsuit, filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, *****'s camp claims Julien's Auction House is "not legally entitled to retain possession of Michael Jackson's personal property."

The suit claims the auction house has repeatedly refused to return the stuff.

The auction is scheduled to take place April 22 in Bev Hills.

    MICHAEL JACKSON SUES AUCTION HOUSE

So you thought the gates of Michael Jackson's famed Neverland Ranch and one of the white gloves first unveiled in his 1983 Billie Jean video
were going up for auction in a 2,000-item sale organized by the self-styled King of Pop? Not if Michael has his way. The gloved one is suing auctioneer Darren Julien. Bottom line, Michael says his stuff was stolen and he wants it back. Jackson claims he never agreed to auction many of the items from Neverland Ranch. The property is worth millions of dollars and many of the items have extraordinary sentimental value
and are priceless, Michael claims in a new lawsuit filed today in Los Angeles Superior Court against Julien's Auction House.

Michael said he wanted to review what items were to be sold at auction, and he claims that never happened. Julien claims Michael can bid on his items just like anyone else. The five-day auction in Beverly Hills, scheduled for April 21-25, was to be the first organized by Jackson, who has been living as a virtual recluse since his acquittal in 2005 on child sex abuse charges."

If you actually read the court papers before you comment you won't have to guess. MJJ Productions is claiming they contacted Juliens to auction off some of the items. Juliens agreed to catalog and photograph the items and Michael would then tell them which things they can auction and which things he is keeping. Contract signed, and all agree. Julien's according to the lawsuit doesn't honor the agreement , they fail to cotact Michael about which items can be auctioned and they start putting whatever they want to up for auction, including personal items, etc. MJ then tells them, he wants those things out of the auction and Julien's tells him he can bid on them, even though they have a clause in contract saying MJ can not bid on items. MJ then wants everything back, Julien's refuses. And they have been asking for the things back for months with no resolution, therefore lawsuit.

  • Michael Jackson sues auction house for sale plans

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Michael Jackson sued an auction house Wednesday to halt the scheduled sale of thousands of his personal possessions, an action the firm says caught it completely off-guard.

The King of Pop's company, MJJ Productions, filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday against Julien's Auction House. It claims founder Darren Julien promised to send Jackson an inventory of sale items, but that the singer hasn't given permission to move them all.

The suit claims many of the items are "priceless and irreplaceable" and describes the attempt to sell them as "malicious, fraudulent, extreme, outrageous and without any legal justification whatsoever."

Julien said Wednesday night that the lawsuit was a "total surprise to us, because Jackson had been apprised of everything since the day we started. His manager ... has approved everything."

In December, Julien's company announced it would administer a five-day auction in April featuring more than 2,000 of Jackson's personal items, including his American Music Award for "Thriller," a velvet cape given to him by his children for Father's Day in 1998, a pair of rhinestone-trimmed socks from 1981 and a basketball signed by Michael Jordan.

Platinum and gold records, a customized Harley Davidson, a Rolls Royce limousine and his own original artwork were also set for sale, according to the original announcement.

MJJ Productions authorized the auction house to remove the items from Jackson's Neverland Ranch, according to court documents, but not to sell them without Jackson's permission.

"There was no other intention when we picked up the items" but to put them up for sale, Julien said. He said that Jackson's camp had since requested some items be returned, which the firm honored.

"Up until two days ago we were working with his managers," including final details such as a date for the catalog to be ready and signed, he added.

Julien, who is in Ireland on a promotional trip and had not been served with the lawsuit, said he would be getting in touch with the Jackson camp before deciding what to do next.

Turns out someone may be trying to sell the glove right out from under Michael Jackson.

One of the potentially comebacking King of Pop's companies has filed a lawsuit against Julien's Auction House, saying that the West Hollywood outfit is not authorized to sell off a treasure trove of Jackson memorabilia in a five-day bidding spree scheduled for next month. (View the lawsuit.)

Per the auctioneer's website, the "Once in a Lifetime Auction," to take place online and at the Beverly Hilton, is set for April 22-25, while looky-loos are free to take a peek at the items, which include Jackson's iconic glove, the gates to Neverland Ranch and a robotic head from Moonwalker, starting April 14.

Jackson's complaint, filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, claims that Julien's has "effectively stolen Michael Jackson's personal property" and has refused to return any of it "despite repeated demands."

The goods were removed from Neverland after Jackson's estate underwent a "financial reorganization," and while Jackson's rep, Dr. Tohme Tohme, arranged for the auction house to pick up the items, he informed CEO Darren Julien that the Thriller artist would have to sign off on the inventory himself before anything was sold.

Julien assured Tohme that Jackson would be consulted before they proceeded with an auction, according to the suit.

Julien presented Jackson with a consignment form to authorize the sale in August, but Jackson never signed.

MMJ Productions is seeking damages and the immediate return of all of Jackson's doodads.

Julien is traveling out of the country and could not be reached for comment. In the meantime, the auction website is peddling a five-volume catalog, signed and numbered by Jackson himself, for $500.

  • Das stimmt. Aber ich halte Julien's Auction eigentlich für sehr professionell. Da schließe ich solche Vorgehensweisen aus.

Hm.

that is excellent news, Michael can keep his belongings, the legacy is safe !!

    -> So everything is okay?

We'll have to wait and see what's next, it's all between MJ (himself) and Julien's Auction I guess now.
But Michael trying to keep his personal belongings is a very good news (indeed).

"I am in Ireland right now but this comes as a surprise. Michael Jackson and his manager have been involved and we have communicated with them all along on this auction. We are not a moving company but we are an auction house. It does not make sense that he did not want the items sold that we picked up." Darren Julien, Julien's Auctions' President exclusively told China.org.cn.
