  • Eminem Talks Michael Jackson, Addiction, 'Different' New Songs
'That's exactly what used to happen to me,' he says of stories of the late Michael Jackson's alleged pill addiction.

Eminem made his triumphant return earlier this year with Relapse, but has yet to rest on his laurels, putting all of his energy into the soon-to-be-released follow-up, Relapse 2.

In the December/January issue of Complex magazine, the iconic rapper looks back on the splash his comeback created, from the buzz he's built for the Relapse sequel to, more seriously, comparisons to Michael Jackson's ills.

Em, in a moment of reflection, opened up about his battle with addiction, comparing it to Jackson's struggle with pills — although he cautioned it's hard to decipher what reports about the Gloved One were true, much like his own life.

"Oh, 100 percent," Em said when asked about parallels between Jackson's demise and his own hard times. "When you read things about Michael Jackson it's hard to decipher what the f--- is true, but there's the story of how he woke up at whatever time and he needed something to go back to sleep because he has this or that and it didn't work — that's exactly what used to happen to me," Em continued. "I would take a couple of pills and I would be up an hour later and I'd want more.

"It's one of the pitfalls of fame," he added. "I could just say, 'Yo, I need this and this and this,' and they're going to give me whatever I want."

Since Eminem has been sober for the past 20 months, he's said his addiction has been channeled away from drugs into things like jogging (hence the weight loss) and studio time (hence the quick follow-up album). Just Blaze is helping Slim Shady out on Relapse 2, Dr. Dre recently joined Em in the lab to work on new material.

He's aiming to make a better-rounded album with the Relapse sequel, he explained.

"When I finished Relapse, I had a whole album of material that didn't make it that I wasn't ready to throw away, so that was going to be Relapse 2," Em offered. "But then I got with Dre in Hawaii and started recording more, and now the new material has knocked out all the old songs. But yeah, the new material is definitely different.

"Making Relapse, I was still working the drugs out of my system, so there was a lot of ... just jokey sh--," he explained. "It was a lot of punch line-y, funny, shock value — kind of going back to The Slim Shady LP. And that was cool, but I've kind of flipped the page. Now I'm going for songs instead of one-liners. I don't want to make sh-- that you hear once and then the joke's over — I want to make records that you could play a hundred times, a thousand times."

  • Alleged MJ Lovechild Won't Accept Rejection

Posted Dec 1st 2009 2:47PM by TMZ Staff

Prince Michael Malachi Jet Jackson -- the 24-year-old who claims to be MJ's lovechild -- is going back to court in the hopes of getting a slice of *****'s fortune, even though he was already rejected by the people who run MJ's estate.

PMMJJ just filed "objections of rejection" paperwork in L.A. County Superior Court, in which he begs a judge to "have determined that he is the biological son of decedent Michael Joseph Jackson ... and gain whatever benefits he is entitled to."

The Jackson estate had rejected PMMJJ's claim back in August, even though he provided a California birth certificate which lists Michael Joseph Jackson as his father.

  • King of Pop Tops Search Engines

Michael Jackson was the most-searched phrase in 2009.

    image

BURLINGAME, Calif. -- It's official: Michael Jackson beat out Facebook, Twitter and swine flu as the most searched words in 2009 on Google, Yahoo! and Bing. The three search engines released their top searches of the year Monday and Tuesday.

The death of Jackson in June focused global attention on the pop superstar. The number of people searching "Michael Jackson" at the time even caused a brief Internet slowdown and led Google ( GOOG - news - people ) to believe that its service experienced a cyber attack.

While other U.S. pop culture references like Twilight sequel New Moon and singer Lady Gaga made it to Google's top 10, almost half of the list is populated with foreign terms, prompting some to observe that the Internet was experiencing "massive growth" outside of North America. Spanish social-networking site Tuenti and Turkish virtual world Sanalika ranked No. 3 and No. 5, respectively.

What do you think the most popular search terms say about Internet users? Add your opinions in the Comments section.

Yahoo and Bing's lists, meanwhile, focused on U.S. references and featured the usual suspects, like actress Megan Fox and reality TV stars Jon and Kate Gosselin. Not all were impressed with what the most popular search terms said about us. "The best use we can make of [these search engines] is to read up on the latest in the Gosselin scandal or dig up some paparazzi shots of Megan Fox? That's just…sad," wrote John Paczkowski of All Things Digital.

Others criticized the "sanitization" of the lists, saying that Google, Yahoo! and Bing painted an inaccurate picture of the Internet landscape by removing undesirable queries, like pornography-related searches. "While these reflect the current mood, they don't really give us a good idea of what people search for on a day-to-day basis," said Frederic Lardinois on ReadWriteWeb.

Here are the search engines' Top 10 lists:

  • Grammy Noms: Jackson Tribute, Jonas Debut

Road to Music’s Biggest Night to Kick Off With Nominations, Tribute to Michael Jackson and Debut of Nick Jonas' Side Project

(CBS) The countdown to music’s biggest night kicks off with the live primetime special "The Grammy Nominations Live" tonight on CBS. In its second year, the special mixes performances from Grammy award-winning/nominated musicians with thee announcement of nominations in several key categories.

Hosted by two-time Grammy award winning rapper LL Cool J, the concert will include performances from Nick Jonas and the Administration, the three-time award winning Black Eyed Peas, six-time nominated Maxwell and one-time winner Sugarland.

Nick Jonas, one-third of the Grammy nominated Jonas Brothers, will be introduced by brothers Kevin and Joe for the world premiere performance of his new side project, Nick Jonas and the Administration.

The Black Eyed Peas were pumped and ready for a good night. "Look forward to us going out there, having a good time, keeping our fingers, toes, eyes crossed that we get nominated," said Will.I.Am.

Host LL Cool J hopes to prove he still has the pipes to impress the superstars who will be in the audience, such as, Smokey Robinson and Ringo Star, whom he called "the cream of the crop."

Also at rehearsal was six-time nominated Maxwell who's had a critically successful return after a seven year hiatus. He will be paying tribute to Michael Jackson with "Lady in my Life."

"Everyone loves his dancing, uptempo stuff. I’ve always been the sucker for the romantic ballads that he does," said Maxwell during rehearsals.

Bill Werde, editorial director of Billboard Magazine, shared his thoughts on the upcoming nominations and his personal picks for the top awards.

"I think a lot of people were skeptical about the Whitney comeback. I think there's good reason. She's been through a lot. When you started hearing track after track and it was so good and hitting all of the right notes," he said of possible nominee Whitney Houston.

Best album of the year? According to Werde it should be Maxwell’s "Black’s Summer Night."

"Beautifully written, beautifully sung, it's been a great comeback for him," he said. However, Maxwell’s album might not have done well enough, Werde believes, to have broken through to the mainstream.

  • MJ's Final Gifts to Kids -- Disney, Dali & Ice Cream
Posted Dec 2nd 2009 10:20AM by TMZ Staff
Before Michael Jackson died, he ordered three pieces of art for his children -- and today they're finally going to be delivered.
We've learned Jackson picked out the paintings "Alice in Dali Land," "Lost Fairy Tales" and "Flavor of the Month" from artist Nelson De La Nuez -- and they were supposed to be dropped off the week of his death.

Obviously, the plans had to be shuffled around -- but we're told Katherine Jackson has arranged for the artwork to be dropped off this afternoon.

As TMZ previously reported, Jackson had a thing for the artist -- MJ dropped $13,000 on some De La Nuez pieces for himself just two weeks before his death.

Ich hoffe die Kids haben Ihren Spaß daran !! ;)

The last dinner with Michael Jackson
the King of Pop personal stylist broke silence about who the person Michael Jackson really was...

    Posted Nov 5, 2009

Written by: Zaneta Apostolovski (translated to English from Italian Magazine)

    EXCLUSIVE: RUSKA BERGMAN

Famous New York stylist who was born in Takov , the woman who enchanted Steven Spielberg, Nicole Kidman and Hilary Clinton, for two and a half years she was inseparable with the tragic King of Pop, who said a month before he left this world’s stage that he will forever be with her.

Michael Jackson was never selfish, he shared his love with the whole world, but that he’s the King of Pop – no one truly admitted that till he died. Michael wasn’t a *****, even though so many ugly things and lies were written about him. People simply didn’t understand him just like they didn’t understand Beethoven and Mozart but time has proven that they were musical geniuses as well. Jackson was an amazing artist. He lived in his own world with his music. I’m happy/lucky because I got to be his friend and that he chose me out of all people to be his stylist – says Ruska Bergman, the personal stylist of the late pop icon.

She’s only worked for a few years in New York but she’s already worked with Hilary Clinton, Bjork, Cindy Crawford (?), Nicole Kidman, Gwyneth Paltrow and many other stars. She’s convinced that Michael Jackson was the most noble and sophisticated person that she worked with.

“I work for the Italian ‘L’Uomo Vogue’, I styled lots of directors, athletes, actors and when we had to pick out a music icon for our photoshoot, I suggested Michael Jackson, so I sent him a letter. I was at the theatre when after three weeks I got a phonecall from his lawyer who said he was calling on behalf of Michael Jackson.” – I was completely caught off guard. I got scared that I did something wrong in the way I contacted him. so I started apologizing. When the lawyer told me that Michael agreed to do the photoshoot, I asked him to repeat that sentence again before I pass out I called the editor of the magazine right away and told her that Michael Jackson agreed to do the photoshoot.”

According to Ruska, the preparations for this photoshoot were the most intense preparations on the planet.

“I got thousands of girls assisting us but by the end of it we decided on six. Completely impressed with what he saw, Michael simply shouted, “Girls, you are divine!” – but in order for Ruska to hear that sentence she worked very hard for five months.

Even though he was a megastar, Michael never acted like one on the set. He was very professional, he knew that he was working with the best stylists, make-up artists and photographers and he never saw their work as something beneath him.

There were hundreds of people on set. We played his Thriller album, he immediately stood in front of the camera and started dancing and a few moments later everyone was in tears. He had so much energy that I then, and many times later, thought that he must be from a different planet

[b]Michael Jackson thought the same about Ruska though. He was amazed how much love she put into her work . Because of similar sensibilities, they continued to work together and their professional association quickly turned into friendship. He loved her character and honesty. He appreciated the fact that she was always honest about what she could and couldn’t do as far as her work goes.{/b]

The change in Jackson’s style over the last couple of years was very noticeable and noticed by the world media (I agree, he looked ******g beautiful lately, shazaaaam!)…on the internet blogs, everyone was asking who was behind the new look of this 20th century pop icon. His secret weapon was of course RUSKA BERGMAN!

“He trusted my taste a lot and he used to always tell me to never stop because I’m the most interesting person he’s ever met! When we became friends, he told me when I first showed up on his door in Vegas he could smell the Mediterranean sea on me”

Ruska and Michael were working intensely with one another over the last two years. They saw eachother often and stayed in touch regularly.

“My phone rang on New Years. I picked up the phone and heard someone singing opera. I was completely baffled. I asked who it was and Michael responded, “Who do you think it is?” – He was very shy and I can’t even describe how gentle he was. But his talent, voice, music and charisma can’t be surpassed.”

Since the first time they met, Ruska was convinced he was a genius. After that meeting in Vegas, her whole world changed. She walked down the street and suddenly compared to Michael, all the people seemed so ordinary.

“The more I watched him the more I loved him. He was simply magic. He was the most noble person in the world. No man on Earth can compare to his inner and outer beauty. I met so many stars, talked to them, worked with them, but no one was even close to Michael’s charisma. He was simply always ahead of everyone else and I can’t believe that my dear friend died How can I believe it when we actively worked so much together lately? I was getting the styling ideas ready for the tour, which unfortunately he will never get to do now – and it would’ve been a true spectacle.

According to Forbes magazine, Jackson would’ve earned 2.5 billion dollars from that tour. But he wasn’t too concerned about that. He had over 30 people who took care of everything and he had eleven lawyers, he lived in complete isolation but he was able to see who his true friends are. The moment Ruska came to LA, Michael would call her and sometimes he himself would pick her up at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

“The window of the limo would go down and Michael – guarded by six bodyguards in there – would wave at me and call me over. We loved and respected eachother. He loved everything that I wore, and he always wanted to wear it. He always asked me where I was hiding so long. A man like that will never come by again, but I’m convinced that his music will live for hundreds of years. Everyone copies him, but only when Michael himself showed up would people actually faint.”

The woman who works in the biggest fashion house and gives advice to Tom Ford, Givenchy and many others, she fascinated the King of Pop when it came to how humble she was and her general view when it came to money.

"When we had dinner just a month ago, Michael asked me, “Do you know why I love working with you? You never asked me for money. And we never talked about some agreements. You trusted me as I trusted you. I changed six managers in two years. You’re the only person who stuck with me. Everyone else came and went, and you, my dear, will be with me forever.”

The last time she saw him was two weeks before his death. She was at his house five days in a row.

“He was truly beautiful. He didn’t seem depressed or sad at all. He even danced a bit. Didn’t seem to have a care in the world. As always, he was the gentlest person on the planet. It seemed almost as if he was ‘ours’ (“Ours” is a Yugoslavian expression when talking about people who are actually from ex-Yugoslavia. Like “that girl looks like she’s ‘ours’” ). I never felt that about anyone aside from ~Steven Spielberg. But Michael was so unusual, his warmth and love completely got me. Everything was just fine. I can’t believe that he’s gone all of a sudden.”

She heard the news about his death while she was in the studio. The moment she heard it she thought she would fall off the chair. The only thing she could possibly say was that it was simply impossible, it can’t be. She couldn’t stop crying for days. All the material and the photographs and data that she has, she’s keeping for the movie, This is It, that’s coming out.

“I know I was very privileged because I had the chance to be so close to him, to see him as a real person. We perfectly understood eachother. I feel sad that the media was so unfair and cruel to him. He didn’t have cancer, his nose wasn’t falling off, all those things are just fabrications, stupidities and lies. The pop icon is among angels right now, but his music will live forever.”
