Rodney Jerkins Tweets, MJ-Jerkins material to be heard online...?

News just in from producer Rodney Jerkins' twitter account, @ONLY1DARKCHILD :
"In the studio w/ @BigShiz listening to #DARKCHILD records that yall never heard. Brandy, Usher, Mj, Biggie, Jay Z, Destiny's Child, etc..."
    "Beyonce, Britney, Gaga, etc..."
"I think im gonna create something on my site called the The Lost Sessions so people can hear songs that never seen the light of the day."
    ---------------

    http://twitter.com/#!/ONLY1DARKCHILD/

Ich hätte ne Frage zum Song "You are my World"

I have a suggestion about "For All Time" :

Several months ago, maybe last year, I don't remember exactly, a member of MJFrance had asked a question about "For All Time" to Steve Porcaro. He replied this :

"I wrote For All Time along with Michael Sherwood in 1990.
They presented it as a Thriller-era cut, but he actually recorded it while he was making Dangerous."

So, the version released on Thriller 25 is the new mix made in 2007.

Hope it can help you :)

I have questions about the music of Michael. Korgnex said me to write them here :)

Actually, I made a list of all the official versions of Michael's songs (Epic era). Now, I finished but there are some things I don't know. This would allow me to finish my list. I compiled ALL my questions.

    Here is my questions :

    1) Do you know these 2 versions of "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" here :
    http://www.discogs.com/Michael…nseguirlo/release/2073549 and here http://www.discogs.com/Michael…ff-The-Wa/release/2087200 ??

If yes, how are these versions ? The durations are correct ?

    2) On this 12" http://www.discogs.com/Jacksons-Wait/release/433394, the Live version of "She's Out Of My Life" really lasts 3:45 like written ?

    3) I have seen in the book "For The Record" (2nd edition) that there is written "7" Edit With Intro" about the song "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough".

It is on this promo 7" : http://www.discogs.com/Michael…et-Enough/release/1973699

But, is it here as well : http://www.discogs.com/Michael…et-Enough/release/1828208 ? There is written "Short Version With Rap" so it's maybe the same version. There is written 3:55 so it's maybe a misprint...

    4) Is the Q-Tip Remix of "Rock With You" official ?

    5) Does the "Brothers In Rhythm Mix" of Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' the same as the "Brothers In Rhythm House Mix" ?

On MJFC, there is written this about the cancelled 2003 Australian CD Maxi-Single :

    4. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' (Brothers In Rhythm Mix)
    5. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' (Brothers In Rhythm House Mix)

But on MJStrangersite, there is written this :

Brothers In Rhythm House Mix - 6.45
Brothers In Rhythm Mix - 7.35

And on Majical Jackson, there is written the same thing :

Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' [Brothers In Rhythm House Mix] 6:45
Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' [Brothers In Rhythm Mix] 7:35

The Brothers In Rhythm House Mix released on Jam, Who Is It, Earth Song etc runs 7:35 not 6:45 ! The Brothers In Rhythm Mix really exist ? What is its duration ?

    6) On this UK 12", there is 2 remixes of "Smooth Criminal by Brothers In Rhythm : http://www.discogs.com/Various…s-Volume-2/release/759845

Some fans say that they are official, but other fans say that they are not official !

Are they official or not ?

    7) Is this version the original uncut version of "Who Is It" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3hyZvrouqA ?

What is this version : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XTvZnDeRhg ? An alternate mix of the original uncut version ?

    8)

    a) In the book For The Record and on MJFC, the following remixes are listed :

This Time Around (Maurice's Hip Hop Around Mix With Drop (Without Rap))
This Time Around (Georgie's House N Around Edit)

Are they really official ? I didn't see these remixes on any CD or vinyl !

    b) In For The Record, there is also this remix :

This Time Around (David Mitson Clean Album Mix)

Is it official ? If yes, Where is it released ?

    c) Finally, are these remixes official ? :

This Time Around (Uno Clio 12" Backing Track)
This Time Around (Uno Clio 12" Instrumental)
This Time Around (Uno Clio 7" Backing Track)
This Time Around (Uno Clio 7" Master Mix)

    9) About They Don’t Care About Us :

    a) In the old French magazine "Black & White" (issue #19), there is written this :

Album version 4:45 / Album version - with noises 4:45 / Album version - with new lyrics / LP Edit 4:10 / LP Radio Edit - with "sew sew" and "kick kick" 4:10 / Single Version 4:43

What is this "Album version - with new lyrics" ? The "LP Edit" or another version ?

    b) Is there really a version with these lyrics : "do me, sue me" and "kick me, strike me" ?

This is what there is written on Wikipedia… but is it true or not ? If it’s true, where is this version released ?

    c) I saw on MJDatabank and in the issue #19 of B&W, that there is written this :

"They Don’t Care About Us (Dallas Austin Main Mix w/o Bass)"

Where is it released ? In the B&W, there is mentioned that it was only available on promo, but which one ?

Here is a screenshot of the "Black & White" magazine #19 : http://img804.imageshack.us/img804/9351/sansrert.jpg

    10) About Stranger In Moscow :

    a) On MJDatabank, there is a remix of SIM I never saw anywhere : "Hani's Extended Club Hop Mix (R&B)"

Does it really exist ? Where is it released ?

    b) On the Australian CD Maxi-Single of SIM, there is a remix called "Hani's Radio Edit" : http://www.discogs.com/Michael…In-Moscow/release/2405541

Is it the same remix as the one called "Hani's Num Radio" released on UK & Europe CD Maxi-Singles ?

    c) Are these remixes the same ? :

    - "Tee's Freeze Mix - Club" & "Tee’s Freeze Mix"

    - "Tee's Mission Mix - Club" & "Tee’s Mission Mix"

    - "Tee's Bonus Beats Dub" & "Tee’s Bonus Beats"

    d) Does the "Charles Roane Full Mix - W/Mute Drop (R&B)" really exist ?

    11) In For The Record and on MJFC, this remix is listed :

    HIStory (MARK!’s Vocal Dub Mix)

Does it really exist ? Where is it released ?

    12)

    a) In For The Record, the following remixes are listed as official remixes of "Ghosts" :

    Remix
    Mousse T’s Radio Edit

But, Where are they released ? Do they really exist ? What is "Remix" ?

    b) In the list in this thread, there is written this :

Ghosts (1994) (Michael Jackson, Teddy Riley)
    Michael Jackson
Outtake of the album HISTORY - PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE - BOOK I (1995)
Developed after Michael wrote Is It Scary, but wanted to just write another
creepy theme. An Early Version leaked as it was used for the end credits
of the eponymous mini-movie GHOSTS (1996) when a final version was
not yet available. This version has a different bass and other sound effects.
Recording has been completed in 1996 and the song eventually was chosen for
the compilation BLOOD ON THE DANCE FLOOR - HISTORY IN THE MIX (1997).

    * (5:13) "Blood On The Dance Floor - HIStory In The Mix"
    (Compilation, CD, 1997)
    * (Radio Edit, 3:50) "HIStory / Ghosts"
    (Single, CD, 1997)
    * (5:13, and Radio Edit - _:__) "Ghosts - Deluxe Collector Box Set"
(Limited Movie Package, both CD, December 1997 Europe)

    (Early Version, 5:45) LEAKED

This Early Version is the version of Ghosts used for the end credits of the 2nd version of the mini-movie Ghosts, the one released on VHS, VCD and LaserDisc, right ?

But, in the end credits of the 1st version of the mini-movie Ghosts (the one not commercially released, but leaked on the Internet), the version of the song Ghosts is different from the version used in the end credits of the 2nd version of the mini-movie Ghosts.

What is this version of the song Ghosts used in the 1st version of the mini-movie ? The demo ?

    13) The explicit version of the Track Masters Remix of "You Rock My World" (the one with the word "nigga") is official or not ? Where is it released ?

    14) On the Internet, there is a version of "2000 Watts" without the vocoder which circulate. Is it official or fan-made ?

    15) In For The Record, there is written this about "We Are Here To Change The World" :

Studio mix released for the first time on Michael’s box-set, THE ULTIMATE
    COLLECTION, issued in November 2004.

    Official Versions :
    Movie Version
    Making Of Version
    George Lucas TV Special Version
    Studio Mix

What is the George Lucas TV Special ?

    16) I tried to compile a list of the official versions of the Cascio songs :

    Breaking News

    Album Version (4:14)
    A Cappella (3:28)
    Instrumental (4:15)

    Keep Your Head Up

    Album Version (4:51)
Original Version - With Earth Song Adlibs (5:09)

    Monster

    Album Version (5:06)
    Original Mix - Without 50 Cent (5:38)
Jody Den Broeder & Chris Cox Radio Edit (3:47)
Jody Den Broeder & Chris Cox Club Remix (7:30)
Jody Den Broeder & Chris Cox Dub Mix (6:15)

Is it correct ? Are there other official versions ?

    17) Are these remixes all official : http://mjklub.com/threads/1294…Remix-Sammler-Korgi-sucht ?

If yes, What are the names of these remixes ? :

    Off The Wall
    • [E-Smoove Mixes]
    • [Maurice Joshua Mixes]

    18) About "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008" :

    a) Is this Johnny Vicious remix official : http://soundcloud.com/johnny-vicious/michael-jackson-vs-akon ?

    b) Does the German 12" of "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008" with this tracklist exist ? :

    1. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008 (Radio Edit) (3:48)
    2. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008 (Johnny Vicious Radio Mix) (3:36)
    3. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008 (Johnny Vicious Club Remix) (9:03)
    4. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008 (Johnny Vicious Warehouse Thrilla Dub) (7:23)

    19) These remixes of "Blood On The Dance Floor" are official or fan-made ? :

    - Blood On The Dance Floor (TM's Switchblade Edit - Long) (4:10)
    - Blood On The Dance Floor (Refugee Camp Edit - Long) (4:10)
    - Blood On The Dance Floor (TM's Switchblade Mix - Long) (9:52)

I have them in mp3 format but I don't know if these are fan-made edits...

I know that on the US CD these are the regular mixes. These are misprints on the CD. Mjrico has it and verified it.

    20) In this thread, there is They Don't Care About Us [Love To Infinity's Walk In The Park Mix - Radio Edit #1] - 4:51 min which is on the Love To Infinity promo CD.

But, is this version the same as "They Don't Care About Us (Love To Infinity's Walk In The Park Radio Mix)" (4:46) which is released on the singles of TDCAU ?

    21) Where is released "Butterflies (Track Masters Remix with Radio Shouts (feat. Eve))" ? How is this version ?

    22) What are actually the so-called "demos" of the Cascio songs leaked last month ?

Thank you very much !!! It bring me a lot of help !! :)

Sorry that you had to wait so long for an answer.

    1) I'm not really into Vinyl records but as far as I know they are just shortened. playtimes should be correct.
    2) I think it's got some dialogue with the audience removed.
    3) Definitely the same. "Rap" refers to the spoken intro.
    4) No but it's authentic. "Official" are only remixes that are ordered. This one is a private one.
    5) Just different cuts of the same remix.
    6) No but they are authentic. "Official" are only remixes that are ordered. These ones were private ones that appeared on some bootleg.
    7) Links don't work for me. But apart from an earlier mix of the final version nothing has been leaked.
    8a) Yes. http://www.discogs.com/Michael…ime-Around/release/547780
Can't remember where the Georgie Edit comes from.
    8b) Yes. Here e.g.:
    http://www.discogs.com/Michael…me-Around/release/3205293
    http://www.discogs.com/Michael…ime-Around/release/916884
    http://www.discogs.com/Michael…Earth-Song/release/989034
8c) If they are indeed from the multi-tracks of the 7'' and 12'' respectively remix versions, then they are. What's your source? Link?
9a) The one with the repeated words ("sue me, sue me" / "kick me, kick me")
9b) No. Michael sings "jew me, sue me" and "kick me, kike me". The words relating to Jews were later censored.
9c) My browser crashed when answering this. I can't remember the link but it can be found at Discogs.
10a) I'm gonna ask Richard about this.
    10b) Yes.
10c) The same as far as I know.
    10d) Yes. http://www.discogs.com/Michael…dio-Mixes/release/1982732
    11) Yes, it does really exist. It's from some internal Whitfield acetate (3rd track on Disc 1) -->
12a) A typo, probably the full Mousse T mix was meant.
12b) With "Early Version" i meant the demo from the first movie cut. It's an earlier instrumental and F/X mixing of the completed song with lyrics. The version used in the released version of the movie is the "Extended Version" or "Promo Edit" as I prefer to call it.
    13) official. on some acetates.
    14) fan-made
    15) I can't remember but I think it was just shortened.
    16) There are a lot more versions but I won't go into details about them. I wouldn't call them "original versions", they are just other cuts/work-in-progress.
    17) Not all of them are official but they all exist and are authentic as far as I know. I don't know the names of the OTW mixes.
18a) No (as he says it's a private one)
    18b) No.
    19) I don't understand your question.
    20) Yes.
    21) it's on a radio program CD (can't remember which one) - Eve can be heard shouting her and MJ's name and is saying some other things (I need to listen to it again)
    22) work-in-progress versions by several engineers/producers and "finishers" like Riley, NOT original demos as assumed by Birchey who should have known better. contrary to how people read too much into his opinion about the tracks themselves, all the tracks and screenshots he had illegally acquired don't provide the slightest hint of an impostor.

Thank you very much for all these answers ! :) :top

    (My replies are in blue)

    7) Links don't work for me. But apart from an earlier mix of the final version nothing has been leaked.

I ask my question again with download links :) :

Is this version the original uncut version of "Who Is It" : http://www.mediafire.com/?b44es5es16ctklq ?

What is this version : http://www.mediafire.com/?kji52h19925qmzd ? An alternate mix of the original uncut version ?

    8a) Yes. http://www.discogs.com/Michael…ime-Around/release/547780

The "Maurice's Hip Hop Around Mix" has no drop and has the rap.

The "Maurice's Hip Hop Around Mix w/o Rap" has no proper drop and no rap.

On this promo 12", there is no version with drop and without rap

    8b) Yes. Here e.g.:
    http://www.discogs.com/Michael…me-Around/release/3205293
    http://www.discogs.com/Michael…ime-Around/release/916884
    http://www.discogs.com/Michael…Earth-Song/release/989034

Ah ok ! "David Mitson Clean Album Mix" and "David Mitson Clean Edit" are the same !

8c) If they are indeed from the multi-tracks of the 7'' and 12'' respectively remix versions, then they are. What's your source? Link?

    Here : http://www.mjjcommunity.com/fo…11&viewfull=1#post3281911

    10d) Yes. http://www.discogs.com/Michael…dio-Mixes/release/1982732

I have a rip of this promo CD and I don't hear any mute drop.

    11) Yes, it does really exist. It's from some internal Whitfield acetate (3rd track on Disc 1) -->

But, these Whitfield CDs are fake, no ? Oo

    17) Not all of them are official but they all exist and are authentic as far as I know.

Could you tell me which ones are official ? :)

    19) I don't understand your question.

I have the long versions of these remixes :

    - Blood On The Dance Floor (TM's Switchblade Edit) (4:10)
    - Blood On The Dance Floor (Refugee Camp Edit) (4:10)
    - Blood On The Dance Floor (TM's Switchblade Mix) (9:52)

I wonder if they are real or not.

What I know is that they are not on this CD. On this CD, durations are false. It's just misprints.

    Apocalypse Now
    outtake of the Bad album

Drummer John Robinson in an interview with Rhythm magazine (UK, issue 06/2010)

    Zitat

"There was anaother track I did that never made it called "Apocalypse Now" that I wrote six and a half minutes of milltary drum cadences for. I brought in Don Williams, John Williams' brother, Dan Greco and Bob Zimmitti and we recorded with four field snares, four piccolo snares, two sets of piatti and one gran casa. It was a very hip tune but it never made the record. I was kind of upset about that."
