Newest DA seeks justice

The first woman to become district attorney in Santa Barbara County outlines her plans for the future.

Christie Stanley says she wants to target those who take advantage of the elderly. In fact, Stanley will use resources warning seniors about scams and other crimes.

Stanley will also concentrate her efforts on the meth war, gang violence, and juvenile crime. She says her office will not be about going after high-profile cases, such as the one involving Michael Jackson.

For her, it is all about seeking justice.

"if someone commits a crime in Santa Barbara County, it's going to matter to me as a prosecutor that they are famous, wealthy, or a celebrity. If in fact we've got the proof and they violate the law, they'll be prosecuted," said Stanley.

Stanley will officially take over as the new Santa Barbara County DA on January 8.

Sneddon ist noch lange nicht weg. Das gleiche, was ihn antrieb, treibt auch sie an. Ein Bösewicht geht, und der nächste kommt. Das BÖSE ist aber weiterhin das selbe.
