"Go for your dreams" -- eine alte, neue MJ Stiftung
The MJ Place hat etwas Recherche über diese bislang kaum bekannte Stiftung "Go for your Dreams" von Michael Jackson betrieben. Diese Stiftung wurde am 10. Oktober 2003 gegründet und an Michael Jacksons offizieller Party zu seinem 45. Geburtstag in Los Angeles vorgestellt. Bleibt abzuwarten, was die Nachlassverwaltung damit plant.

Kenny Wizz still dealing with Michael’s death on a daily basis
Kenny Wizz performs his Michael Jackson tribute show HIStory.
THE memory of Michael Jackson lives on in the hearts of his loyal fans, friends and family.
But for one man, who has dedicated his life to the musical genius, Jackson’s death is something he is still dealing with on a daily basis.
Kenny Wizz is the man behind the moves, make-up and music. He is the man who keeps the memory alive. With every show he performs,
he helps people come to grips with losing a man who changed the face of music and dance.
Although Wizz never met Jackson, there is no doubt in his mind that the legend knew of his tribute artist.
“For me, this role is more than just dressing up as MJ and singing a few songs. It is about meticulously putting together a show
that showcases everything that was great about the performer and being as close to perfect as I can be.”
The acclaimed impersonator is in Australia this month performing his HIStory show. Don’t miss this opportunity to see the next best thing when HIStory comes to Gold Coast Arts Centre on Saturday.

Foothill College Studio to perform MJ Tribute in june
Bubba Gong, director of Foothill College’s dance program, rehearses a number surrounded by his students. Photo by Veronica Weber/Palo Alto Online.
After spiraling around him, Bubba Gong’s dancers are all laughs as they sink down to the floor. Photo by Veronica Weber/Palo Alto Online.
Donning an elaborate silky robe and golden headdress, Bubba Gong leads his dance students around the Foothill College studio in a line during a recent rehearsal. They follow him hand in hand, all dressed in white, doing a grapevine step.
For 25 years now, Gong has been the charismatic heart of Foothill’s dance program. He was the first full-time dance instructor at the school, and founded its Foothill Repertory Dance Company.
On June 3 and 4, he’ll celebrate the quarter-century mark with three dance performances encompassing a variety of styles. Gong will take the stage at Smithwick Theatre along with about 100 other dancers: students, company members, guest artists and alumni.
Foothill graduate Julio Fabian, for one, says he wouldn’t miss it. He was a company member a decade ago and is now a DJ and producer in Las Vegas, going by DJ Fabian.
At the June shows, he’ll perform a tribute to Michael Jackson with other Vegas dancers, he said in an interview.

Daniel Lamarre (Cirque Du Soleil) On MJ show: “The pressure is going to be awesome”
Last night in New York, Daniel Lamarre, the chief executive officer of Cirque du Soleil, offered a rare peek at the ambitions and anxieties involved in running a business with annual revenues approaching $1-billion (U.S.).
He also made it clear that Cirque’s future lies in expanding its operations in Europe and Asia, since it has more or less saturated the market for its productions in North America.
Looking ahead, the company plans to diversify geographically, he said. It currently has eleven permanent shows, seven of them based in Las Vegas, and 11 shows on tour. Three more are in the pipeline,
including one opening in October based on the music of Michael Jackson. “The pressure is going to be awesome, but that’s what we like,” he said.
Mr. Lamarre, formerly a public-relations guru and television executive, arrived at Cirque a decade ago. He said there were distinct benefits in running a privately-held business.
“I don’t have to impress a financial analyst or show results on a quarterly basis,” Mr. Lamarre said. “I have an owner who is happy with the money he is making.”
Headquartered in Montreal, Cirque is owned largely by its founder, Guy Laliberté, a one-time street performer whose net worth is now estimated at $2.5-billion. In 2008,
two arms of the Dubai government purchased a 20 per cent stake in the firm.
Mr. Lamarre also talked about his partnership with Mr. Laliberté. “My job is to take all of his crazy ideas and test them with metrics,” he said. Potential business partners who
negotiate with Cirque are sometimes surprised to find it has a talented staff of financial analysts, he added. “Yes, we’re dreamers, but we have to make business sense.”
Asked how he measured success, Mr. Lamarre said the proof was always in the audience’s reaction to a show. And with over a hundred million spectators served, the novelty value is wearing off.
“What’s tough for us is that the expectations are getting higher and higher,” he said.

Stanley Clarke on meeting Michael and mixing the ‘Remember the Time’ music video
How did you get to score the music video for Michael Jackson’s “Remember the Time”?
I’ve been working on quite a few films with the director John Singleton, and I think Michael told John to direct this video “Remember the Time”; it’s like an Egyptian dance video.
So John brought me along, and I went to the set—an amazing set—and we had a meeting with Michael, who said, “I want some movie music,” which he said to me in a very high voice (laughs).
And it was cool; he was a really talented guy, you know? There aren’t enough words to say he just got it. I sat down and watched him work, and he was a real perfectionist,
working hours and hours on the same thing to just perfect it. It was really something, because we put that together and I then ended up mixing that video. It’s funny,
when I see it I remember being with the engineer—what the hell was his name, he used to be an engineer for Quincy Jones…
Bruce Swedien?
Bruce Swedien, yeah. We were mixing this Michael Jackson video (laughs) you know, and it was a cool, cool thing. It had fun and music, and all these [cameos] like Iman, Magic Johnson,
Eddie Murphy and all the other people in there. So I created this movie-kind of fantasy music, and it was nice. We took it into the studio and mixed it, and there it was.
That was the funny thing about it—we had finished it, and we were waiting for somebody to come, some producer or somebody to come in and mix it, and we just said,
“Why don’t mix this thing?” and that’s it. It was a funny thing, and I realized they were expecting us to do it anyway. It was a cool project, and I really liked doing it.
