Coroner: Michael Jackson Died Of ‘Acute Propofol Intoxication’
LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Michael Jackson died of “acute propofol intoxication,” the Los Angeles County Coroner said in a statement to Access Hollywood on Friday.
In the first official announcement on the cause of the King of Pop’s death, the long-reported anesthetic propoful was blamed of his June 25 passing. Also contributing to his death was “benzodiazepine effect” — a depressive reaction to the psychoactive drug family.
“The drugs Propofol and Lorazepam were found to be the primary drugs responsible for Mr. Jackson’s death. Other drugs detected were: Midazolam, Diazepam, Lidocaine and Ephedrine,” the coroner’s office said in the statement released to Access.
The statement also confirmed the coroner’s previous report earlier this week that the singer’s death has officially been ruled a homicide.
“The final Coroner’s report, including the complete toxicology report will remain on Security Hold at the request of the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County District Attorney. In accordance with this request, the Department of Coroner will not comment on its completed investigation,” the statement concluded.
Reports of drug use have swirled around Michael’s June 25 death for some time.
On Monday, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press that the star’s death had been ruled a homicide by the LA County coroner, with the cause of death the anesthetic propofol in conjuction with at least two other sedatives.
And on Thursday, a judge released search warrants in the investigation into the King of Pop’s death that revealed drugs including marijuana and a host of prescriptions were found at the late singer’s rented Los Angeles home.
According to the search warrant affidavit, during the course of the investigation (which is still ongoing), members of Jackson’s family informed the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office that they had found some “tar heroin.”
A source close to the case told Access Hollywood, however, that the substance was not heroin.

Lawyer for Jackson doc: Release full autopsy now
LOS ANGELES – The lawyer for Michael Jackson's doctor is criticizing authorities for withholding the full results of the singer's autopsy.
Edward Chernoff, who represents Dr. Conrad Murray, says he's at a loss as to why the Los Angeles County coroner's office only released a brief summary of the results Friday, including that Jackson's death was a homicide and the cause was the powerful anesthetic propofol and another sedative.
Chernoff says he needs to know precisely what levels of various drugs were detected and said the failure to release the report seemed like "gamesmanship."
Chernoff says his client was truthful with investigators and the general findings made public support statements the doctor gave investigators after Jackson's June 25 death.

REPORT: Evidence Piling Up Against Michael Jackson's Dermatologist

Michael Jackson's longtime friend and dermatologist Dr. Arnold Klein may have helped the singer obtain drugs, according to a new report.
According to the warrant and affidavit for a raid last Friday on Mickey Fine Pharmacy in Beverly Hills, Calif., investigators were searching for records of medication Klein allegedly prescribed to himself – and then gave to Jackson, FOXnews.com reports.
A list of items seized during the search filed Thursday evening in California federal court shows investigators seized "60 prescriptions, 29 patient profile print-outs, three copies of DEA Forms 222 (Order Forms) and copies of inventories of controlled substances."
FOXNews.com reports that between Jan. 1, 2008 and July 6, 2009, Klein self-prescribed 27 controlled substances, which he filled at Mickey Fine Pharmacy and which investigators now believe he gave to his friends – including Jackson, who died of an apparent drug overdose on June 25.
The 60 prescriptions and 29 patient profiles were all related to the investigation into Jackson's death. The patient profiles belong to Jackson and aliases used by the star, reports FOXNews.com. The drugs involved included the medications hydrocodone (Vicodin), modafinil (Provigil), diazepam (Valium), and injectable midazolam (Versed).
The day after the report was released saying that Klein was the subject of a criminal investigation likely to culminate in charges related to medical malpractice, his criminal attorney told the DEA that the dermatologist had never self-prescribed, FOXNews.com reports.
Klein has previously made conflicting claims about whether or not he is the biological father of Jackson's two older children, Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11.

LAPD: Michael Jackson Death Investigation is Ongoing
The LAPD tells "The Insider" that the investigation into Michael Jackson's death is continuing, following the L.A. County Coroner's announcement about the cause and nature of Jackson's demise.
The LAPD, which describes itself as the "primary investigative agency" responsible for the death investigation, tells us the investigation is "ongoing and will result in the case being presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney for filing consideration."
The LAPD adds that the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) and BNE (Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement) have launched their own independent investigations into findings the LAPD's investigation uncovered that "may not be directly related to [ Jackson's] cause of death."

Der King of Pop ist laut Gerichtsmedizinern Opfer eines Tötungsdelikts. Sein Tod sei vor allem auf zwei Medikamente zurückzuführen. Der Leibarzt hatte zugegeben, ihm ein Narkotikum gegeben zu haben.
Nun ist es offiziell: Michael Jackson ist durch eine "akuten Vergiftung" umgekommen, hieß es in einer am Freitagabend in Los Angeles veröffentlichten Erklärung der Gerichtsmedizin. Todesursache war laut dem Autopsiebericht das Narkotikum Propofol. Andere Beruhigungsmittel hätten ebenfalls eine Rolle gespielt, vor allem das Medikament Lorazepam.
Der Bericht der Gerichtsmedizin ist die erste offizielle Erklärung, dass der Tod Jacksons fremdverschuldet war. Die Polizei teilte mit, sie werde es der Staatsanwaltschaft überlassen, Strafanzeige zu erstatten.
Im Visier der Ermittler dürfte nun unter anderem der Leibarzt des Sängers, Conrad Murray, stehen. Er hatte zugegeben, Jackson an dessen Todestag Propofol verabreicht zu haben. Jackson starb am 25. Juni überraschend im Alter von 50 Jahren.
Der vollständige Obduktionsbericht wurde auf Antrag der Behörden bislang noch nicht veröffentlicht. Die Gerichtsmedizin wollte deshalb das Ergebnis ihrer Untersuchungen nicht weiter kommentieren.

Bereits am Dienstag waren Details aus einem gut 30-seitigen gerichtsmedizinischen Bericht bekannt geworden. Aus ihm ging hervor, dass Jackson an den Folgen von Propofol einem Herzversagen erlag. Er wäre an diesem Samstag 51 Jahre alt geworden.
Auch Jacksons Hautarzt, Dr. Arnold Klein, ist offenbar unter Verdacht. Angeblich nahmen sich mehrere Einheiten der Kriminalpolizei am Freitag das Gebäude vor, in dem Klein seine Praxis hat. Nach US-Medienberichten soll der befreundete Arzt Jackson jahrelang mit starken Beruhigungsmitteln und anderen Medikamenten versorgt haben.
Ein Gerichtstermin zu Jacksons Erbe wurde am Freitag nach kurzer Verhandlung auf einen späteren Zeitpunkt verschoben. Zu ihm waren Michaels Mutter, Katherine Jackson, seine drei Kinder und zwei frühere Geschäftsfreunde erschienen, die der Popstar ebenfalls als Testamentsverwalter eingesetzt hatte.

Am Tag vor Jacksons Tod habe er das Propofol weggelassen, sagte Murray den Ermittlern.
• 1.30 Uhr: Murray gibt Michael Jackson zunächst Valium, um Jackson beim Einschlafen zu helfen.
• ca. 2 Uhr: Der Popstar kann nicht einschlafen. Sein Leibarzt injiziert ihm das Beruhigungsmittel Lorazepam. Es hilft nichts, Jackson bleibt wach.
• Gegen 3 Uhr: Das nächste Beruhigungsmittel. Dieses Mal spritzt Murray seinem Patienten Midazolam. Jackson kann trotzdem nicht einschlafen.
• ca. 5 Uhr: Der Kardiologe probiert es mit einer weiteren Lorazepam-Injektion.
• 7.30 Uhr: Eine weitere Spritze mit Midazolam. Ohne Erfolg. Laut eigenen Aussagen kontrolliert Murray dabei permanent den Puls des Sängers.
• Gegen 10:40 Uhr: Murray gibt dem Drängen des Popstars nach und verabreicht ihm 25 Milligramm Propofol. Daraufhin sei Jackson schließlich eingeschlafen.
• nach 10 Minuten: Murray verlässt nach eigenen Aussagen das Zimmer, um auf die Toilette gehen. Er bleibt, so behauptet Murray, höchstens zwei Minuten weg.
• Gegen 11 Uhr: Als er zwei Minuten später zurückgekehrt sei, habe Jackson nicht mehr geatmet. Murray habe sofort mit Wiederbelebungsversuchen angefangen und Jackson das Mittel Flumazenil gegeben, das bei bestimmten Medikamentenüberdosierungen hilft. Der Arzt lässt Jacksons ältesten Sohn Prince Michael rufen.
• Zwischen 11:18 und 12:05 Uhr: Murray führt drei Telefongespräche, die insgesamt 47 Minuten dauern.
• 12:21 Uhr: Der Anruf in der Notrufzentrale geht ein.
Mit wem Murray die Telefonate geführt habe und warum es so lange dauerte, bis die Rettungskräfte gerufen wurde, ist bislang nicht bekannt.
Interessant: Als die Sanitäter ankamen, gibt Murray lediglich zu, Michael Jackson das Beruhigungsmittel Lorazepam gegeben zu haben. Die Propofol-Gabe verschweigt er.
War er sich seiner Schuld bewusst?
Im Krankenhaus weigerte sich Murray, die Todesurkunde zu unterzeichnen. Warum, ist unklar.
Gegen Conrad Murray wird wegen eines Tötungsdeliktes ermittelt. Es wurde aber noch keine Anklage erhoben.
Ein Sprecher von Jacksons Familie teilte am vergangenen Montag laut „USmagazine.com“ mit, dass die Angehörigen „volles Vertrauen“ in den Rechtsweg haben und sich auf den Tag freuen, „wenn der Gerechtigkeit genüge getan wird“.
Gleich nach dem Tod des 50 Jahre alten Sängers war Murray ins Visier der Polizei geraten. Die Ergebnisse der Autopsie von Jackson Leiche sollten bis zum Abschluss der polizeilichen Ermittlungen unter Verschluss bleiben. Dies teilte die Gerichtsmedizin in Los Angeles Anfang August mit. Die Blut- und Gewebetests seien zwar abgeschlossen, würden aber vorerst nicht veröffentlicht, hieß es damals.
Die am Montag bekanntgewordenen Unterlagen zeichnen ein deutliches Bild von Jacksons starkem Medikamentenkonsum. Murray zufolge sprach der Sänger im Zusammenhang mit Propofol, einer weißlichen Flüssigkeit, von seiner „Milch“. Er habe zahlreiche Einstiche in Jacksons Händen und Füßen entdeckt, doch Jackson wollte ihm darüber keine konkrete Auskunft geben, gab der Arzt zu Protokoll. Seiner Aussage zufolge war er nicht der erste Mediziner, von dem Jackson Propofol erhielt. Zwei Ärzte in Deutschland, die nicht namentlich genannt wurden, hätten ihm ebenfalls das Narkosemittel gespritzt.
Murray war seit Mai für monatlich 150 000 Dollar bei Jackson angestellt und sollte ihn auch auf seine geplante Konzerttour nach London begleiten. Der Privatarzt hat sich kürzlich erstmals seit dem Tod seines berühmten Patienten zu Wort gemeldet. In einer einminütigen Videobotschaft, die bei YouTube veröffentlicht wurde, beteuert Murray, er habe alles getan, was er konnte.

Die sollen bloß alles gründlichst aufklären, damit die Anklage gegen die betreffenden Personen auch hieb und stichfest ist. Damit kein toller Anwalt die wegen Verfahrensfehlern oder so in null komma nix wieder raus kriegt, die sollen in der Hölle schmoren !
