BAD25 out on DVD this July!





    Twenty-five years after Michael Jackson’s visionary Bad album and tour left an indelible mark on pop culture,
    BAD25 takes you back inside the recording sessions, film shoots and sold-out stadiums for an intimate look
    at the King of Pop’s creative genius.
    Poignant and candid, Spike Lee directed a documentary that goes beyond paying homage to the record-setting
    album featuring such iconic songs as “Bad” and “Man In the Mirror.”
    Using never-seen footage and candid interviews with subjects ranging from Martin Scorsese to Kanye West,
    Lee chronicles what became not only a watershed moment in Michael Jackson’s growth as an artist but in
    popular music as well.
    The New York Times called BAD25 “filled with oh-wow moments,” while Time lauded the film as
    “an intimate view of a performer at his peak in the intense splendor of creativity.”

    NEWS ...BAD 25 DVD

    For fans asking about the availability of the Bad25 documentary on
    DVD or Blu-ray - while there are no plans for a general retail release,
    the Estate did want to ensure that all fans had the opportunity to
    see the full-length theatrical version that debuted at the Venice Film
    Festival. To accomplish this, the Estate decided to make the
    physical DVD and Blu-ray of the full-length version available for
    purchase online for fans at MichaelJackson.com.

    Mit "full-length version" meinen die das was bei uns im TV lief.
    Nur die Amis hatte eine gekürzte Version im TV.
    Das wird des tollklingenden Verkaufsarguments wegen aber nicht erwähnt. ;D


    Oder sollte die Filmfestival Version tatsächlich länger sein als 120min? :para
    Warum hat man dann nie was über die "full-length"-Länge gehört?

    Nochmal... Der 4-stündige MJ-Abend bei VOX hatte 2 Teile... erst 2 Stunden eine deutsche von Vox produzierte BAD25-Doku, dann ging es fast nahtlos in die 2-stündige BAD25-Doku von Spike Lee über.


    Ich habs jetzt mal auf meinem Festplattenrecorder zurechtgeschnippelt...
    Alles davor und danach weg, 2 Werbebreaks und "sehen sie gleich"-Trailer raus usw. Übrig bleiben von der Spike Lee Doku etwa 2 Stunden, 1 Minute, 35 Sekunden. Der Abspann scheint etwas abgehackt. Werden also vielleicht 2 Stunden, 2 Minuten.


    Ich denke das ist die "full length" Version die auch auf den Film Festivals gezeitig wurde.


    Mit ihrer "full length"-Aussage richten sie sich höchstwahrscheinlich an die Amis, die diese eben nicht im TV hatten, sondern eine stark gekürzte Fassung.


    Aber wie auch immer... lass mich gern positiv überraschen. Ich kaufs aber auf jeden Fall nicht blind.

    Offensichtlich gibt es in NYC (?) am 16. Juni - also am Sonntag eine Kinovorführung von "BAD25", bei der Spike Lee anwesend sein wird! Vielleicht die Kinofassung, die auf der DVD sein wird???? Und Spike Lee steht für eine Q&A-Session zur Verfügung.


    Nehme das jetzt 'mal so hin - Augen offen halte! :)
