SANTA YNEZ, Calif. Federal officials responding to complaints that animals were kept in poor conditions at Michael Jackson's estate have concluded they're not being mistreated.
The pop star's Neverland Ranch has been home to elephants, giraffes, snakes, orangutans, tigers and a crocodile.
Last month a Department of Agriculture inspector visited the ranch after People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals made the complaint. The activist group says it based its complaint on tabloid reports that the creatures are being kept in substandard conditions.
The U-S-D-A has concluded there's no violations of the Animal Welfare Act at Neverland.
Still, PETA isn't satisfied. The group plans to file a similar complaint with the Fish and Wildlife Service because some of the exotic animals are protected under the Endangered Species Act.
