Neues aus der Gerüchteküche: UNRELEASED JACKSON 5 SONGS FOUND

  • UNRELEASED JACKSON 5 SONGS FOUND:
Owner says he’s in talks with Michael, Janet and labels to get material released.

*A whole bunch of unreleased material from The Jackson 5 is about to hit the streets after collecting cobwebs in a New Jersey warehouse for years, reports WENN.

The collection was found after Richard Altomare, the head of luggage movement company Universal Express, bought unclaimed Jackson family memorabilia from the warehouse. Many of the items were auctioned off during a big two-day sale in Las Vegas. The Jackson 5 tapes from the 1970s contain roughly 60 unreleased songs.

Altomare says he is currently in talks with Michael Jackson and his sister Janet, who wasn’t in the band, as well as recording labels – including Sony – to get the unreleased material in stores.

"I've personally talked to Michael and Janet on the phone about the tapes, and even played on a couple of songs for them,” says Altomare. "At first there was silence on the other end of the line, but that was quickly followed by giggles as if it brought them back to the day those songs were recorded."

    Mein Tipp: Fake ;D

Richard Altomare talks about unreleased music collection (60 tracks)

This past Sunday Richard Altomare of Universal Express held a voice conference to give an update on the company, and he talked quite a bit about the Jackson memorabilia auction. He is still spinning everything in overdrive so as not to make the company look bad, but the most interesting part is what he said about the unreleased track collection Universal Express is currently in possession of (now said to be around 60 tracks). Two of these tracks were previewed in low quality during the conference and at the end he actually thanked the Jacksons for allowing him to play the snippets, and indicated that they have been in communications and may possibly join together on an endeavor to get this music released to the public in the near future.

I am including summaries of all of the points he spoke of below, along with my own commentary afterwards. The points after the ***’s are about the unreleased music collection and the most interesting, the rest is just general talk about the litigation and auction.

    Richard Altomare – Universal Express

    - Claims that Universal Express did not initially pay out $5-7 Million to obtain the Jackson collection, but they will pay that much if they are successful in selling the aspects of the auction. "We will not be paying $5-7 Million if it were not successful. Our contracts are very clearly based upon how much we get in revenues." [MY NOTE: This shady 'contract' agreement is what caused Universal Express to be found in contempt of court by the Las Vegas judge. During the conference speech, Altomare skipped right over this fact and in fact tried to blame the auctioneer, instead of his company.]

    - Claims that Universal Express received $30-50 million in publicity as they moved a "small portion" of the Jackson memorabilia collection out to Vegas for the first auction. [MY NOTE: This statement seems just as bogus and far-fetched as his original claim; that the first auction was expected to net (and was appraised for) $30-$200 million. Aside from a couple brief reports on several entertainment shows and one morning show, this auction actually received very little press attention and Universal Express itself received even less (in part due to the fact that it was not endorsed nor promoted by the Jacksons themselves). Only 75-100 people actually attended the auction.]

    - Claims that all the lawsuits and litigation Michael and family filed against them in Vegas has actually ended up "positively" for Universal Express the company. [MY NOTE: Universal Express lost the bulk of the case and were ordered to pay back Michael Jackson's legal fees, a $2,500 fine for being in contempt, and more. They did spend millions in preparation of the first auction and Richard Altomare anticipated sales many tens of millions more than what resulted.]

    - Claims that all of the withheld items were dictated primarily by the New Jersey district over the Las Vegas district, and that those items "were owned" by Universal Express and that they "will come back" to Universal Express. [MY NOTE: There was a hearing at the end of last week in New Jersey regarding proper ownership of this collection and of the items in question. The final decision of that hearing is still unclear, but at the beginning of the week the Las Vegas judge did find Universal Express in contempt and ordered Michael Jackson's items be returned to him.]

    - Says that they did not get to auction off as much as they had hoped to in the first auction. They are still waiting to hear some "final numbers" from the auctioneer that they can agree to because there are discrepancies. As soon as they have a final total from the first auction, they will announce it. [MY NOTE: Universal Express and the auctioneer have been disagreeing with the totals since the day after the auction. The real problem is that Universal Express just doesn't want to accept the fact that the auction netted pennies compared to what they anticipated and what they told all their shareholders and partners the auction would likely bring in.]

    - Claims that they never expected the first auction nor the items sold at the first auction to bring in the bulk of the proceeds that they originally anticipated (and still do anticipate). [MY NOTE: The first auction netted less than $700,000. The first night of the auction, Richard Altomare of Universal Express went on the record as saying that all the items up for sale were of 'museum quality' and estimated sales of at least $5-10 million. Again, he grossly over-estimated and is not happy with the end result.]

    - Claims that they now have in excess of 60 unheard, unreleased songs by the Jacksons. Recently, Don King has been working with Universal Express to communicate with the Jacksons about this music collection. There is belief that, as a result of this ongoing communication, the Jacksons might "join forces" with Universal Express for some "very exciting future opportunities" involving the collection, an endeavor that Universal Express claims would "dwarf our earlier predictions of what that revenue could be." [MY NOTE: A month ago, Universal Express claimed to have 'over 23' unreleased songs across '138 master tapes.' The 'unreleased' count has now nearly tripled. Based on this information and other hints, I am led to believe that the Jacksons may indeed be working with a division of Universal Express on this possible unreleased music endeavor. I still think that Altomare is grossly exaggerating how much this could bring in, however.]

    - Claims that they will be meeting with major record producers in New York City this week to preview these songs, and are optimistic that these songs could in the very near future be made public.

    - Claims that after items are returned from the first auction, they will do either one of two things. 1.) Sell the entire collection to one purchaser with whom they are speaking to, for “substantially more money than you or I thought we’d be getting at the beginning.” 2.) Have another auction. This auction will occur only after “our partners, hopefully including those who may be litigating against us today [Jacksons]” work together with us.

    - Richard Altomare previewed about a minute each of two unreleased Jackson tracks in low quality, one of which was an extended demo recording of “Enjoy Yourself” and another which I could not recognize. He concluded by saying, "I want to thank Michael, Janet, and the Jackson 5 for allowing me to play small little excerpts of that song today... Even though we own it."

A treasure trove of unreleased THE JACKSON 5 material is set to be released, after lying in a New Jersey storage warehouse for years. Richard Altomare, the boss of luggage movement company Universal Express, bought a collection of unclaimed personal belongings from the warehouse - only to find a set of tapes dating back to the '70s containing almost 60 unreleased songs by The Jackson 5. Altomare claims he's currently in talks with Michael Jackson and his sister Janet - who wasn't in the band - and record labels including Sony in order to get the music released. Altomare says, "I've personally talked to Michael and Janet on the phone about the tapes, and even played on a couple of songs for them. "At first there was silence on the other end of the line, but that was quickly followed by giggles as if it brought them back to the day those songs were recorded."
