  • Jackson Neverland Ranch Not for Sale

    AFP-News
By WENN world entertainment news - Thursday, April 12 12:45pm

Michael Jackson has denied US reports he is preparing to sell his Neverland ranch at the reduced rate of GBP10.3 million - GBP15.4 million lower than his original asking price.
Industry insiders had claimed the Thriller star was ready to sign away the 2,700-acre property in Santa Barbara, California - which includes a zoo, cinema and amusement park - to American debt guru Bill Huff, according to PageSix.

But Jackson's representative Raymone Bain has dismissed reports stating that Neverland isn't even on the market. She says, "This is not true."

  • ***** To Sell Kingdom Cheap

Ok it's hardly cheap, but Michael Jackson, the deposed King of Pop, may finally have found a buyer for Neverland, his Santa Barbara ranch. According to the New York Post, the singer, desperate to pay down his $200 million debt had the estate on the market for several years with a $50 million price tag. According to persons familiar with the sale, debt guru Bill Huff has made a serious offer of $20 million. And Jackson is seriously considering it.

There are surprisingly few buyers on the market for 2,700-acre ranches complete with zoo, movie theatre and amusement park. However, Huff is not interested in maintaining the place as a residence. He “wants to tear Neverland down and develop the land.” Although 48-year-old Michael is broke, his reps are denying that the property is even for sale.

Why pretend to keep it? To Jackson, the estate became haunted in 2005 when investigators raided the ranch seeking evidence in yet another child molestation allegation. Although later acquitted on the charges, MJ packed up his three children, diminished staff and fled the country, floating across the globe in splendid exile before returning to Las Vegas, hoping to record a new album and launch a world tour.

Last week Jackson considered taking legal action in the proposed auction of over 2,000 personal items spanning three decades of his career. The New York auction house of Guernsey’s currently has the items on display in New York. Such personal and stage items include sister Janet Jackson’s ballet shoes and the black jacket with gold epaulets MJ frequently wore during the 1980’s. The live auction will take place in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. If the sale of Neverland goes through he might have enough money to recapture at least some of his past glory.

  • DAWSON UPSET SHE MISSED OUT ON NEVERLAND TOUR

Movie & Entertainment News provided by World Entertainment News Network
    2007-04-14

ROSARIO DAWSON was so thrilled to discover she would be working near Michael Jackson's abandoned Neverland Ranch home while making new film Death Proof she tried to convince director QUENTIN TARANTINO to organise a grand tour.
The gritty action film was shot in the countryside near Jackson's famous Santa Barbara, California estate and Dawson spent every day dreaming of the chance to check out the home, which the pop superstar hopes to sell.
She says, "I really wanted to go and I figured that, between (co-star) Kurt (Russell) and Quentin, they could try to pretend like someone had enough money to actually buy that place and it just never happened.
"I just wanted to go in and look inside... I was trying to figure out a way to get in there and it wasn't working.
"I had announced the Golden Globe nominees and it was, like, at 5.30 in the morning, so they had to bring me right back to work, and I was so upset because we didn't fly over (Neverland). I think there's, like, a no-fly zone over the place."
