Next Tuesday, my friends and colleagues at the Center for Lawful Access and Abuse Deterrence (CLAAD, @claad_coalition) will recognize Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorneys David Walgren and Deborah Brazil for their excellence in the prosecution of Dr. Conrad Murray. CLAAD is a national coalition dedicated to preventing prescription drug diversion, misuse, and abuse.

CLAAD will commend the LA County prosecutors for their national leadership in implementing the policy recommendations set forth in the National Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention Strategy (of which I am a primary author). The National Strategy urges prosecutors to exercise moderation and to analyze facts in prescription drug cases from a medical perspective. Some 30 non-profit organizations have endorsed this year’s National Strategy.

Conrad Murray Ordered To Share Jail Cell With Michael Jackson's Ex Brother-In-Law

Crazy coincidence!

Conrad Murray's four-year jail sentence for the manslaughter of Michael Jackson has been made more uncomfortable than first thought,
with reports surfacing the doctor is sharing cells with Jackson's former brother-in-law James DeBarge.

Murray has been housed in Administrative Segregation - where famous prisoners are usually held - at L.A. County Men's Jail since his conviction back in November.
It is there he has been rubbing shoulders with Janet Jackson's ex-husband DeBarge, formerly a member of the popular '80s R&B group El DeBarge, who is doing
a sentence for assault with a deadly weapon and drugs charges.
DeBarge's lawyer tells TMZ the singer is "very upset" to have to share living space with Murray, and saw Michael Jackson as a "brother" despite only being married
to Janet for a year in 1984.
The pair are said to have run into each other as recently as last Monday during a meeting with their lawyers in the visitors room.
