Reporter: Michael Jackson and his children first toured the Air and Space Museum, before the doors opened to the public.

Don Lopez: We couldn't have him here, with the public here, he'd get wiped out.

Reporter: The museum's deputy directory Don Lopez led Jackson and his family on the private tour -- something he did when Jackson first visited Air and Space 24 years ago.

Don Lopez: He was quite shy the first time I met him... This time he was very outgoing, and spoke to everybody.

Reporter: Next, the Jackson clan moved over to the National Museum of the American Indian. Where tour guide Sharyl Pahee actually danced with Jackson!

Sharyl Pahee: No, no pressure at all.

Reporter: Pahee was explaining story-telling through dance.

Sharyl Pahee: When I started doing it, and I asked his kids to join in, they joined in and started dancing. And then, he just got right in...

Reporter: Both impromptu celebrity tour guides described Jackson's children as polite and cute.

Sharyl Pahee: They're just wonderful. They were sweet...

Reporter: Don Lopez, a 35 year veteran of the museum, was Jackson's personal tour guide yesterday. The same tour guide when Jackson was here 25 years ago.

Don Lopez: Back then he was just like a shy kid, he didn't say much. He hid in the corner almost. But this time he was fine, he was very upbeat.

He's back!!! Or is it possible Michael Jackson has been quietly lurking in our region ever since his early-a.m. Smithsonian tour last week?

The sometimes-reclusive, sometimes-exhibitionist performer was spotted Wednesday evening in the downtown law offices of Venable LLP. One spy said he looked exactly like well, himself: black sunglasses, black jacket, white shirt, black pants, white socks, black loafers, a pair of oversize bodyguards.

For those lucky enough to glimpse Jackson, his appearance explained a memo the firm had just put out, warning staffers not to gawk at clients.

What was he doing here? All we know is what Jackson's D.C.-based rep, Raymone Bain, told us last month when the singer showed up on Maryland's Eastern Shore that he's looking for real estate (no word of a purchase yet) and that he had to meet with East Coast advisers. Bain didn't return calls yesterday; Venable reps said they couldn't discuss any visits to their offices "out of respect for the privacy of all our clients."

Elizabeth Taylor

  • Michael Jackson To Buy Home In Cecil County?

    Aug 14, 2007 7:28 pm US/Eastern
    Suzanne Collins
    Reporting

(WJZ) CECIL COUNTY, Md. The King of Pop is the hot topic of gossip in one Cecil County town Tuesday, because there are rumors that Michael Jackson is looking to purchase a home there.

The property is listed with Sotheby's. Sky Eye Chopper 13 shows a 550-acre tract in southwest Cecil County. An exclusive mansion is there, and houses for the workstaff, too. The selling price? $34.5 million.

Eyewitness News sets out to find the truth in rumors that Michael Jackson is negotiating to buy the property. A check with the Cecil County Office of Deeds shows that the estate has not changed hands since 2002, when it sold for about $14 million.

Someone working in that office said it could be recently sold but not yet filed with the courthouse. "It could be very well still be in the lawyer's office, title searcher's office," said Gary Homes. "Once we get it here at the Circuit Courthouse, it'd be recorded that day."

The rumor mill is stoked by people who say other people actually saw the singer with a small entourage of limos and security. "He said that he was here for three days, and he set up camp and that he was applying for an exotic animal permit," said Agnes Browne.

To find out if Michael Jackson or any of his agents applied for an exotic animal permit, Eyewitness News came to animal control for Cecil County and found out there's been no such request.

By afternoon, Eyewitness News reached the real estate agent listing the property, and confirmed Jackson's agents did visit and view the property, but he never came. That was around the fourth of July.

    No contract has been signed.

Michael Jackson's also considering property in St. Michael's in Talbot County.
