"Ok, this NEEDS its own thread. I copied and pasted it from the chart thread so people wouldn't miss this. SOOO much info to discuss. Again, nothing confirmed, but MUCH to chew on.
1- Whitney Houston's album is COMPLETED and will be entitled Undefeated.
2- Artwork direction is currently being finalized.
3- Photographs and artwork will be done by David LaChepelle.
4- The rumour about a Whitney / Alicia Keys duet is actually true.
5- J- Records is contemplating a mid-December release, possibly December 16th, and the lead single may be released next week if the label sticks to a December 16th release. If they change the release date, it will be no later than February 2009, pre-Valentine's.
6- The lead single has already been selected, and it's called Undefeated.
7- Like I Never Left WILL be on the album, but Whitney's vocals were re-recorded with her in better voice, and more horns and a modulation were added. What was leaked was her demo vocal (some call it scratch vocal).
8- The label has identifed five singles fom the album, and is releasing five videos from the album.
9- A Whitney Houston television special and tour are both in the planning stages.
10- They have already agreed to give Oprah the rights to the first interview and it will be a Prime-Time Whitney release party for two hours with interviews, performances and tributes.
11- There will be a follow-up interview with Dianne Sawyer.
12- There is a song on the album that haseveryone in the entire BMG group raving, and is expected to be a classic, monster of a hit.
13- A collaboration with Michael Jackson is being considered (written and produced by R. Kelly, so I'm assuming it's you-know-what-song!!!)
I'm going to see the gentleman who gave me this info in a few days, and he promised to bring me some of the songs on his MP3 player for me to hear, but he REFUSED to email them, but I heard one over the phone and all I can say is GO DIANNE WARREN GO!!!!!
Let's see if he was right or if he was bullshitting me, but he's never done that before....! "
Ne-Yo talking about Michael Jackson
"I'm trying to write a song for Michael Jackson, that's a headtrip in itself," Ne-Yo says. "They're being very selective and careful in what they choose to keep or not."

Samantha Mumba Describes Meeting Michael Jackson
Singer Samantha Mumba has once again spoken about one of her visits with Michael Jackson, this time while reportedly in Dubai (believed to have been back in 2006). In 2007, Samantha Mumba also explained how she and Michael had conversed for a couple of hours at one point while in Los Angeles and how they talked about music, dancing, and recording music. At the time, Michael purportedly told her that he would love to help Mumba's musical career out and that he had written several songs that he would be willing to give to her. Mumba now balances her time living in both Los Angeles and Dublin, Ireland. Speaking about the Dubai experience, Mumba says:
"Meeting Michael was like the closest thing I will ever get to meeting a saint. He had this amazing aura to him. He was very spiritual and magical, even mythical. I was just in awe of him. The guy doesn't have a bad bone in his body. He was so kind and had this incredible way with him.
"I didn't know what to expect to be honest because you read and hear so much about him. When I walked into the room he was the most humble, warm, friendly person you could ever wish to meet. He also had a hilarious sense of humour. He kept cracking these jokes that had me in fits of laughter. It was weird because I was thinking, 'I'm standing in a room having a hoot with Michael Jackson. Nobody is ever going to believe this'.
"Everyone in the music business knows he has made history. But I can still see him making another great album. I would love to see him perform. He's a perfectionist so that's why it takes him so long to release material. But I'd definitely be going along to see him in concert if he did a gig in Ireland."

ZitatAlles anzeigenTalking with Ne-Yo about Michael Jackson
Rob and I spoke to Ne-Yo, apparently he's sent a whole buncha songs Michael's way and is just waiting to hear back to see what he thinks. It was so weird seeing him talk about MJ, and like..sound totally in awe of him.
Nicest dude ever. Lol. I look terrible tho!!
It's true. He named the album 'Year of the Gentleman' as he thinks R&B has gotten too sloppy of late. Too much bling n'..the derogatory word for women beginning with a 'b' lol. And he says his look is inspired from the Rat Pack
I read too many magazines.

AKON CALLS JACKSON A ‘GENIUS’
In an interview to IGN Music, singer Akon had to answer a question about what it was like working with Michael Jackson:
IGN Music: One last thing, and I’m sure you’ve been asked this a million times, but what was it like working with Michael Jackson?
Akon: Aw, man, that was a blessing. Literally. I learned so much just from a conversation with him. He is a genius, man, I mean like literally. I can understand his success just by having a basic conversation with him. I can see why he was so big and why he is a legend today and will always have an impact when it comes to the pop world because of his contributions. It’s just so crazy because sometimes you never really know what’s in the person’s mind until you have a basic, every day, heart-to-heart conversation with them. You know what I mean?
